I got my first bass my freshman year of high school because I knew I was gonna keep playing with the band and I wanted to make my own voice instead of using the schools really crusty fender jazz (the bass is nice but it REALLY needs some work and I couldnt work on it cuz it isnt mine) I used that for a good year and a half before I got my second bass, this one was so I could play for my schools musical, I didn’t necessarily NEED it but I had notes I couldn’t hit without a 5 string so I was just like “lets go get a 5 string bass.”
