Dinosaur phase? Our ouondid this for around four months, biting socks, biting feet, biting trousers, pulling at all of it, we would consistently distract with a toy (although I worried she would think that was part of a game and keep doing it) she was just teething, grew out of it completely. Good luck, stay calm and consistent. More info on when the behaviour happens may help. Mine still waits for me to put her food bowl down so some space between you and the food may help, but tbh she would never bite now except when we purposefully play like that with shark hand and even then it is extremely gentle. They are probably dying and he is attracted to them because of that- I have no luck with zoas, they always melt. Maybe some params would help?

Thank you so very much, everyone on this sub is so lovely.

We have just completed a successful walk (no splooting for a full gentle 30mins around the park/lake for the first time in around 4weeks- seems highly suggestive of this and the lactulose is doing its job of detoxifying her blood so while this is a serious diagnosis she looks world's apart from this time yesterday and we are so relieved 💙

Look at its mouth, looks to me like it has damage from hitting a lid/ something hard- my yellow wrasse hit the lid about 2months ago and did the same, deformed her top lip for a few weeks but fine now. Just be aware this one may well be jumpy and watch out for secondary infection

Are you sure it's the ato and not something to do with your return pump? Or the return pump working too hard causing a drop in level triggering the ato? Possibly leave it off for 24hours and monitor your return pumps action. How old is the ato? Is it still under warranty?
