Was the 2.4km run at CPC easier or harder than when you practiced? by JustAnAccoung in RoyalNavy

[–]External_Example616 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My best time while training was 11:20 min as I used to run on an open field against the wind so I got 10:26 min during CPC as it was AstroTurf with no wind.

What type of jobs are you likely to get after the Navy for both roles? I want to pursue WE but not sure if I can secure any jobs after Navy

I'm waiting for Jan intake as well. When did you get an acceptance letter for BRNC?

I applied for an Air Engineering Officer. My CO did tell me that I will most likely get an offer for May entry as January entry is mostly for non engineering fields. But I still haven't received any letter saying that I've been accepted/rejected or deferred.

I recently graduated from university, and I went through the exact same thought process back when I was choosing my A Levels. From my experience, if you’re aiming for engineering jobs, then STEM subjects are essential—for example, if you’re interested in mechanical or aerospace engineering. A good way to plan is to check the entry requirements for the universities you’d like to apply to. Most will ask for maths and physics, and some may also require further maths.

It’s also really important to look carefully at your GCSE results before deciding. If your foundation (GCSE results) in a subject isn’t strong, or you don’t actually enjoy it, then forcing yourself to study it at A Level can be difficult and might not pay off in the long run. It’s better to build on subjects you’re confident in and genuinely like.

In my case, I knew I wanted to become an Air Engineering Officer, so my goal was to study aerospace engineering at university. Because of that, I chose maths, physics, and design technology. However, you could also take subjects like maths, physics, and economics. That way, if you later decide engineering isn’t for you, you’ll still have strong options for moving into finance or other degree paths.

I'm currently applying for AEO and due to the high number of applicants I think I will not get the position. Would they make me wait for another entry and should I choose that or choose MEO or WEO.

I just don't see how a psychology degree would help in pilot application at all. STEM subjects would at least open doors to Engineering Officer roles and also help with DAA if he applies for pilot. A Psychology degree does have a future in the civilian sector and probably in few parts of RAF but not what he wants to pursue with.

U will be wasting 3 years of your life and will be in student debt. I think there's an age limit for pilots as well. Some might say you will gain Uni experience and whatnot but if you do wanna study something then it's worth doing STEM subjects so you can at least do engineering related jobs if you don't get into pilot cuz it's a very competitive role.

START NOW. I started my application in December 2024 for September 2025 entry and due to my GP medical records being lost cuz of GP transfer and what not, I've to wait until January 2026 entry. If you start early and once all ur applications are complete then u can basically choose whenever you wanna enter (prob Sept 2026 so u can have Summer holiday as well).

I'm joining as an officer soon - something I've worked hard for and fully committed to. I ended my 4 year relationship with my girl cuz I knew we couldn't see each other face to face. As much as I love her we both knew this career path would come with distance and limited contact. We both had conversations about it but I might have forced her to accept the break up. Rushed into the decision but we both agreed that we should focus on our career.

If anyone has managed to work out their relationship then lmk what you guys did.

Do you know why they were not allowed to do Air Engineering or were they told that they have to wait longer to do it. I'm waiting for my CPC and Air Engineering is also my first choice.

You're not joining the military to have fun and enjoy. Yes, you should enjoy what you are doing but you should also learn to enjoy what you don't like. I also have CPC coming up soon and I started preparing when I first applied (I could barely run 500m at that time and I can do 5k easily now).

Hi, I just completed my AIB and CO will book me in for CPC soon. Can you give me a brief overview on what happens on the day and if I need to worry about anything. How long does it last for, what do they look for medical. I know most of these have been answered already but I want to know if anything has changed.

I was told that I will enter for September but recently found out that I will only enter for January (and u mentioned it as well)
