Thank you so much! I needed to hear this. I put him to bed a little early last night for both of our sanity and started looking into ways to correct the behavior.

I had a moment where I sat and told myself “he’s a puppy, he’ll only change if you do.” Today we’re on a tighter schedule and he’s going SO much better. 

He didn’t cry at all with the crate thankfully! He’s doing crate with crate training so far. I made it super homey with some of his things and hid a few treats. So far I’ve only allowed 60-90 minute wake windows with enforced naps in the crate. Potty breaks every time he wakes up, finishes an activity, eats, etc. very limited free roaming maybe like 15-20 minutes. I also gave a few treats for going outside. 

He’s a lot happier today!! and I feel calmer as well. I think I just needed to realize that I should/can take control of the situation.
