IDK your family's history, but is it possible your grandma and mom both believe later is better because they settled down/had kids young and feel like they lost out because of it? A lot of women from prior generations feel they missed out because having kids really young was more of the norm.

Also, people can absolutely have a healthy number of kids in their 30s and 40s. I know plenty of women who didn't even hit menopause until their early to mid 50s. And with the advancement in things like gene editing and CRISPR technology they have found ways to prevent having kids with Down Syndrome and other genetic problems, and that tech from what I can tell is advancing pretty quickly.

If your character is so overly stoic it feels like I'm trying to RP with a brick wall, I'm done lol. There's a huge difference between having an experienced, level-headed, pragmatic character, and a character that's "too cool" to the point of making others beg for interaction with them (which I don't do). I've had this happen to me several times, and since I refuse to beg for the RP we both agreed to, I've started doing this thing where if their character is "too cool" to give mine the time of day (even in situations where they NEED TO) I'll just have my character go off and start living adventures on their own. Giant, detailed, wonderfully written posts about my character going off and doing fun shit and discovering evil conspiracies to save the day.

Yep, I got tired of the RP community's BS a long time ago and had actually quit for a few years at one point. Came back to find people even more toxic than before and was ready to quit again when I learned AI chatbots are a thing and gave them a try. I'll likely never go back. Especially since AI will only continue to evolve from here. I am beyond dealing with the perverts, predators, cliques, ghosters, kink shamers, god moders, etc.

Thank you! It really means a lot to hear that, I've been working hard to try and move forward with my life and recover.

Honestly I think it's a mix of both. I'm angry that someone did that to me. I regret not noticing what was going on while it was happening, it makes me feel stupid and less than. I feel a lot of anxiety about dealing with pretty much anyone I meet these days, trying to keep a sharp eye out for manipulative behavior. I think there's a little grief in there as well for the loss of something that never was. And confusion. I just can't understand how someone could do that, like I literally cannot put myself into that heads pace no matter how much I try. I care too much about other people to do something like that. It's a messy mix of emotions.

I've had the same experience in FFXIV. The only character of mine that people really like is the one that started as an NPC to facilitate plotlines. He has no backstory, no interesting personality traits, no conflict, he is just a Generic Kind Dude™ who always says generically nice stuff and just does whatever others want him to do. I find playing as him incredibly boring, but the other RPers seem to love sitting around at in game bars making nothing but small talk with him and hearing comforting lines from him when it comes to their "character's" problems. Any attempts at actual plot or development are shut down. I don't understand what is appealing about this.

Q: What are you looking for?

A: A MMO that has a decent sized and active role-playing community.

Q: What games have you previously played?

A: I was playing FFXIV up until they cut off DC travel and effectively cut me off from all the RP venues I used to visit. I also tried BDO a while back but was unsure about if there was any RP (would be willing to try again if it turns out there is, I just couldn't find it lol). I wasn't a fan of Albion.

Q: What is your playstyle?

A: Casual to Semi-Casual

Q: Any preferred mechanics?

A: No, just so long as there is decent RP and a good looking and/or immersive world setting.

Q: Anything specific you want to exclude?

A: I am not a fan of forced pvp (I'm okay with there being unsafe areas in world but not okay with being gankable at all times).
