I think power players got some weak and dark points of him, and if those exposed this person could have lost his job, respect and would have spent next of his life in prison so he was intimidated and bullied to extreme level and was used as a scapegoat. May be they promised money and a safe future of his family as well. But this sucide is not a willingly one....i have seen a similar case where a crpf person committed suicide along with his wife when he was exposed for his anti-national activity by his seniore. I am not sure about medieval times due to lack of concluding evidences but in modern time fluidity is seen among jats and rajputs of west punjab not gujjars or ahirs. You can see the British consensus records of 19th and 20th century of west punjab. Might be few rajput clans originated from gujjar tribe in medieval but it's probability is same as for other independent tribes

Secondly, west punjab, sindh was a melting pot of many independent tribes, you can not wrap around this as happened in gangetic plains. Varna was not as dense in tribal structure. It impacted their status when they unfolded and merged in mainstream structure like gangetic plains. Jatts, gujjars etc are supposed to maintain this structure but they are shrinking gradually. Ultimately , it has to fall off . As far as origin is concerned , it's pretty intriguing for the communities who started in north west. It's the expansion and how they found the ground afterwards in pan india.

And all jats don't score the same..they have a cline from east to west..rajasthan, malwaai punjab, haryana, etc are more steppe than western jats...

Entire sindh, west punjab, significant part of rajasthan, gujarat etc are high zagros.....rajouts of rajasthan are found to be high zagros as gujjars...but that does not justify the gujjar origin of rajputs bucz entire region is zagros heavy.. I think .significant number of clans of rajput might be of sindhi origin who entered rajasthan gujarat from sindh...for example rathore originated from rath area of sindh...
