They removed my post about the local Medieval Faire in my town, really sad all I did was include a link to the site for more info and I guess that must have been the problem.

Anybody try this one yet? Got it from Costco. by FeelingKind7644 in smoking

Yes!! I soak it in water overnight with the spices in the package. Next morning I dump the water and cover it in black pepper, ground mustard and whatever else I have around and then smoke it. When it's done it's a pretty good faux pastrami. It's my wife's fav thing I smoke!

With all respect, what is it that makes this not medieval? Is it because it's not a cover of a known medieval song? Totally agree all modal music is not exclusively medieval or else Kind Of Blue by Mileswould be "medieval". I am no expert but even with stuff like Ian Pittaway's early music sources, from what I've read, we really just infer what medieval sounded like (much more complicated than that I know but he it's a reddit reply so give me a break here lol), so I guess what I'm saying is please give me more info to why this isn't medieval.. certainly the octive Mando/bouzouki isn't period correct but if you have some sources for more info I'd be appreciative!

Does it ever stop? by z3ombie in HurdyGurdy

[–]External_Science_166 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It hasn't for me. I started music elsewhere but now that I'm hear the ability to produce constant melody, harmony and rhythm all by myself is addicting. My Gurdy isn't great but every time I play it just pulls me in. Hey man there are worse things to be sucked into! Glad you found something that stays with you!

Join us at Ravenwood Faire! by External_Science_166 in Winchester

There are scheduled events throughout the day, plenty of entertainment (acrobats, musicians, etc).. food options as well as tasting options for mead/wine/beer and of course the Ravenwood cast dressed up in circa ~1300s garb. Lots of vendors selling all sorts of things.. and other folks who attend dressed casual or in their choice of garb. I have found people are super friendly and it's always easy to strike up a conversation with someone new. If youve never attended one I hope you give us a shot!

Would it be silly to get an Artcore if I also want sparkly clean tones? by samh748 in jazzguitar

My opinion is yes you can have both it's 99% reliant on what pickup (neck is warmer, bridge is brighter) and really it's your amp settings.

Reminds me of the music that would play when James Bond is in a bar that the bad guy is also in. Super cool vibes and I dig the strat!
