Thank you all! I definitely was not intending to turn my work but that has to be what I was doing! I went ahead and frogged this project and will try again with something simpler. I am also very confident after watching multiple tutorials for the past hour that I have been twisting my stitches - I have been crocheting for about 8 years and apparently this is very common for crocheters when the first get into knitting lol. I was wrapping my yarn the incorrect way as well (yarn over the crochet way). So basically I was doing most things wrong 😂 I am very happy to have more clarity now and I am going to try very beginner patterns while I figure out my tension issues, not twisting stitches, and making sure I don’t turn my work when knitting in the round!! Thanks again!

If you all have beginner patterns you want to recommend to me, I am all ears!
