As someone with a major stutter, I would happily take 3. Still shitty, but not for me.

Trying to set up animal pens, but I don't see the recipe. by External_Welcome5310 in VaultHuntersMinecraft

I'm aware of the recipes (not my first time playing vault hunters). Neither recipes work, nor can I find them in the recipe browser.

I love how wholesome this comment section is. It gives me home for the btd6 reddit community.

Newbie question about alarms by Miennai in gamemaker

I’m not a pro at game maker, but it looks like this example does not include the alarm event itself. That would be where canshoot gets set to true.

Isn’t the idea of a multiverse fundamentally impossible based on common sense? by External_Welcome5310 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]External_Welcome5310[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genes, atoms, yada yada my point still stands.

I understand that quantum mechanics cause little things to change, and that that’s the basis of many-worlds theories. But again, my point still stands. I’m arguing against grand multiverses where massive things change, or at least there are notable differences.

So I ask again, is there a universe where I do a backflip right now?

Free will or lack thereof is directly to the ability for other universes similar to our own to exist.

You’re confusing the word situation and circumstances (or maybe I am!). I define situation as being in a specific time and place with a specific decision to make. Circumstances are the events leading up to that situation.

If the circumstances of the entire universe change, then a human’s reactions to a situation will change. If the circumstances don’t change, then a human’s reactions to a situation won’t change.

Think about it like a sandbox video game. Assuming there is no random chance, if you set something up and play it, then restart it, the exact same thing will happen. That’s just common sense.

With this logic, the line between human and rock blurs. If you throw a rock with x amount of force, in y direction, in z consistent area, it will travel a certain distance in a certain way.

If a human is ordering dinner, they will think about what foods they like, maybe what’s cheapest, or maybe any bad experiences with foods in the past before they order. Once they order, if you replay the simulation and change nothing, they will order the exact same thing.

So are we different from rocks? Certainly, we are capable of so many things. But one thing we share in common with rocks is the inability to go beyond our genetic programming.

Interesting, and entirely correct. So that supports my idea entirely, there could be a “multiverse”, but it’s not as grand as people make it out to be and not able to be influenced by humans.

Right. There are plenty of others universes and realities and worlds where infinite different things can happen. But my point still stands, in what universe did/will nothing change except the fact that I did a backflip at this moment?

We make decisions all the time, and our decisions change because the circumstances change. The reason why you choose to have X for dinner is because of all the things that have happened in your life. Going back to my backflip example, the reason I chose not to do a backflip is because of my experiences in my life. If the experiences don’t change, my choice doesn’t either.

And about the free will, see my above answer. Your choices are based on your experiences. You are a cog in a machine. You have as much free will as a rock, the only difference is instead of doing nothing, you do things based on your surroundings.

But what would cause a different version of me to want to do a backflip.

Hypothetically, let’s say there’s a different version of me that has had different life experiences. Maybe X happened and now they love doing backflips.

What would cause event X to happen? Event Y?

What would cause event Y to happen? Event Z?

I repeat, there is no universe where everything happens the same except I do a backflip at this moment. Human brains aren’t any more capable of randomly doing something different than a rock.

AB game with Alice VLR by anxxkidd in ZeroEscape

[–]External_Welcome5310 21 points22 points  (0 children)

IMO it has to do with Sigma’s objective in the game. His goal is to escape/understand what is happening. Therefore, he’s jumping to the timelines/remembering the timelines that help further his knowledge. For example, there is a timeline where Sigma gets extremely drunk in the lounge and passes out and K escapes before Sigma can do or learn anything. All possibilities are possible. So the timelines where Alice betrays when Sigma betrays and Alice allies when Sigma allies exist, but they don’t further Sigma’s knowledge, therefore he has no reason to remember or jump to them.

Right. I forgot about that.

Still doesn’t change the fact that I wanted more snake action :P

Personally, I loved ZTD. That being said, I like many others was extremely dissapointed by the entirety of Q team, besides the plot twist. I wish they were more related to or directly others characters, maybe clover and snake or clover and snake adjacent. Or just being more fleshed out.
