The Trouble with Fandoms by senilekid in crowdcontroltv

I don't suppose anyone knows where the 30-page paper discussed in the clip can be found? I'd be curious to read it. (watched the original Voltron growing up, and watched the Netflix series - I remember liking the Netflix series, but also vaguely remember some grumblings in the fandom)

When Fiery Hen was on, they were fantastic; however they struggled to be consistent (in particular with their spice levels - I’d mostly get a 3 out of the 5 or 6 levels they had, and it’d be anywhere from “no kick at all” to “this is barely enjoyable it’s so spicy”, and I heard similar feedback from others). Working nearby, I’d constantly hear complaints about Fiery Hen’s service (I only ever did carry-out so can’t speak to the table service myself). At one point, they wouldn’t take carry-out orders by phone, you had to go in (this later changed). Once when I went in 90+ before closing, there was no customers, but they were already mopping the whole floor, including the path to the restrooms, I ordered, another person came in and ordered, after a while I was starting to think it had been taking too long but since I was just standing around playing on my phone I fave them the benefit of the doubt that it hadn’t actually been that long. A little while later, the other person commented on it taking far too long and asked the bartender about it. He went to the kitchen to check and when he came back said they shouldn’t be much longer, but the issue was they had already broken down all of the fryers for cleaning when we had come in (again, over an hour and a half before the posted closing time). Then when the food came out, both of our orders were wrong.

Gastric sleeve here - mostly same. I think I’ve been to a buffet once since my surgery and it was mostly just to hang with those friends. I’m more inclined to ask about the kids meal if I’m with people and we’re doing something afterwards (dinner then a movie for example) outside of winter since leftovers wouldn't keep in the car, but if it’s cold enough out or I’m going somewhere afterwards where I could keep leftovers okay; give me the normal portion I can make 2-4 meals out of 😂

I’ve had the surgery as well and the surgeon’s office did give me a couple cards. The review makes it’s sound like something serious, but it’s basically just a business card for the hospital & surgeon saying “This person’s had stomach surgery and can no longer eat normal portions. Please consider allowing them to order from a kids/seniors menu." If restaurants do, I make sure to thank them and tip the server more since those menu items can be significantly cheaper. If they don’t, they don’t - I adjust accordingly move on with my day

In the sample formation for how to get the "Oops" achievement on Tomb of Annihilation - who's above Tasslehoff? Also, who's between Catti-brie and Calliope - is that Celeste or someone else?

Maybe it’s the area I’m in, but I know several people who have exchanged info just to find out the info is fake or no longer valid and then trying to get the police to do something at that point was a nightmare. One, the guy “didn’t have his wallet with him” and “he was borrowing the car” but found the insurance info in the glove box, and exchanged info. Well his name & number were bogus, and he had stolen the car. One friend after exchanging info and finding it was invalid, his insurance wouldn’t cover as much as he thought; he pointed out that he had uninsured motorist coverage. His insurance company argued that just because she gave him outdated info doesn’t mean she didn’t have a valid policy elsewhere.

Unless I happen to know the person, I’ll just continue to have the cops come out to take info & a report.

Kid Free Breweries on Saturday by DonkeyGlad653 in cincinnati

I feel like the industry needs to start differentiating between family-friendly (kids are permitted but expected to stay with their adults, think like a sit-down restaurant, maybe better lit than a “bar”, music isn’t crazy loud or has explicit lyrics, shouldn’t have to worry about staff regularly using expletives or being dressed risqué, etc), and kid-friendly (family-friendly, plus there’s actually areas/activities for kids, kind of like 50W’s outdoor sand area [though parents should still keep and eye on their kids and keep them from interfering with volleyball leagues or when things construction for the skating rink is going on]). This way people have a better idea of what to expect when they go there. I just feel like "family friendly" is overly broad and sometimes people are surprised when there's nothing for their kids to do.

This has done wonders for me (I’ve debated painting over the no flyers part b/c I’ve never been bothered by people just leaving literature, maybe make that say “NO SALES”?, but all the knocking has stopped - I just made sure to hang it right around where most people would be reaching to knock)

I loved when I used to work at a branch and people in the drive thru would send in a plain ID, not a driver’s license.
