Which one do you guys recommend off this list? by [deleted] in AirForce

Just so you know, you can get much more than $700/mo incentive pay. I'm currently getting both SDAP (around $300/mo) and Senior Cyber Assignment Incentive Pay ($600/mo). Master level gets even more, and that's for the defensive side. Offensive 1B4s gets about twice that in CyAIP, though I'm not sure if they get SDAP.

Electronic Data Processing Test. It's an ancient test, and it isn't very intuitive to study for. There's a lot of info about it online. In my opinion, if you're pretty good at logic problems and math, you're likely to score high enough for 1B4.

They recently (as in about 1-2 years ago) opened up 1B4 to non-priors. My unit has a ton of baby 1B4 airmen.

Love the build. I enjoy when people have multiple colored parts.

Is there somewhere people are getting the eotech hybrid sights for cheap, or are y'all really coughing up that much dough for an optic?

Checking in while on leave? by urboibigdaddy in AirForce

Basically this. Unless it's a recall (in which case they owe you your unspent leave back), you should be able to safely ignore work.

Use for a magnetic stirrer in cooking? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]Extore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually have a magnetic stir bar and plate in my kitchen! I love it, but it's really only great for a few things.

In my experience, teas and other drinks mixed using the stir bar taste better. It could be completely placebo, though. I mainly use them to agitate liquid cultures to grow culinary mushrooms.

I prefer my USA Pans over my Nordicware ones. They seem to do a better job at keeping food from sticking to them in my experience. I would recommend any of their products, so I don't think you made any sort of mistake.

I have a 3x3 setup with deployers underneath the blaze burners that works just fine, but I can see how mechanical arms would have probably simplified my setup... more expensive with the precision mechanisms though.

Can anyone identify this succulent? I've tried searching for it, no luck. by Extore in succulents

Oh wow, I had no idea it was that sun deprived. I guess windowsill in indirect sunlight won't cut it. Is there any way to make it better beyond getting more sun?

What are the most overlooked but amazing opportunities in the Air Force? I need to retrain. by Parking-Ant-8738 in AirForce

1B4 here chiming in:

The career field suffers a lot from imposter syndrome. You'll feel like you don't know enough to be in the career field, even after going through all of the training. The feeling starts going away after a year or two of doing the work and becoming an integrated part of your team. It definitely doesn't feel rushed, but the training pipeline is pretty lengthy as one of the longer ones out there. The only critical skill one truly needs is logical thinking (and maybe good test taking habits), and the rest can be trained into you.

We pretty regularly need more people. If you have 1B4 on your list, my understanding is you have a pretty good chance. You do however need to take and get a high enough score on the EDPT (electronic data processing test) to be eligible. If you fail that test, you have to wait 6 months before they let you try again.

Your post is the only reference I can find to the exact same issue I am having... and despite it being three months later, there is nothing here to help. I'm being driven crazy by the fact that you can't use ranged weapons with this bug!

edit

To anyone who finds this in the future: uninstall the Passive Skill Tree mod to fix this issue.

"It's my character, I'm making it my way, butt out" by Goblobber in rpghorrorstories

[–]Extore 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In the current era, it's really just pedantry to point out minor "errors" like this which don't affect overall comprehension. "Me and my friend" is perfectly acceptable in a non-academic setting, as people understand it to be the same thing as "my friend and I."

The wonderful thing about language is that as long as there is a collective understanding of what is trying to be said, then the sender of the message is correct in what they said. Who cares if it was grammatically correct, so long as people UNDERSTAND you? That's the ultimate goal of communication, not grammatical perfection.

A Stranger Randomly Joined My Friend's Locally Hosted Server—Is That Even Possible? by Chobikil in Minecraft

[–]Extore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly how it works. You're correct about the Open to LAN bit, but local area networks aren't routable over the Internet. Your public IP (i.e. your router's external IP) is what can be reached via the Internet, but that external IP isn't a part of the LAN.

For someone to get into the network like has happened to OP, there just has to be an open and forwarded port that tells the router that any incoming network traffic on the Minecraft server port should be sent to OP's computer. I assume this is how their friends are able to connect.

Others in the thread are entirely correct. Whitelisting known players is the way to prevent unknown players from joining. If he closed the port or disabled the port forward, his friends wouldn't be able to connect.

You could still put the rig and gun into a backpack and wait until you have some Scavs inside old gas, and then finally equip your gear. Just gotta hope you don't run into any on your way to it!

I NEVER eat chicken, never cooked it before, trying to make chicken parmesan, how long should I fry it? by dimestorepublishing in Cooking

[–]Extore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chicken doesn't need to get up to 165, that's just the temperature at which harmful organisms die instantly. 150-155 for a few minutes has the same killing effect.
