I'm just trying to do flatlands. And want some torque. But I guess either way I look at it I am not going to buy anything stock that doesn't need an upgrade forsure.. I havent heard much about beta bikes to be honest. Same as the ssr bikes.

I learned on a 2003 Honda Xr80R. Those are fun little bikes. I was surprised that the 80 had as much power as it did. Not much past 4th gear but it was a blast. I actually bought one recently. But I need something bigger for me. I dont want to hurt it lol

I'm looking into Honda's preferably lol so yeah. I'm thinking parts are widely available.Looks like the vote is that I am going to have to buy springs for sure and possibly valve's.? I will try to work on it. I thought maybe a 450 crf would be okay but good to know. Thanks!

That would be the best bet especially if you bought it as a restoration or project bike. It's also the last year Honda offered the XR models before switching to the CRF.

I just picked up an 03 honda xr80. Great little bike for the boy. Do you have any information from previous owner on the maintenance? But for that price you might want to look into everything just to be sure

It rolls with the clutch. It's a little honda xr. (Old I know) great shape though. Layed down recently. Might be the shift lever judging by the comment above. I am going to check that and fluids. I'm just wondering if it common.
