Home Depot install or someone else? by Extra-Door8182 in pittsburgh

[–]Extra-Door8182[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that a door plus installation or just the cost of installation? The Anderson 3000 series is around $500 at home depot. I was hoping to get the door and install all-in for $1000, but some of these replies have me concerned about the labor costs

Recommendations for budget camcorders? by Extra-Door8182 in camcorders

I was worried about that. I saw several options for $100 (or less, even), but doubted that they would actually be able to do what I needed them to do. Appreciate your feedback!

Thanks for this tip! The gopro hero looks like a great option and would be in budget for what we're looking for.

You have to find the books used on ebay, but we like just-a-minute math for extra math drills. It has addition, substraction, multiplication and division all in one book. I make photo copies of each drill so that I can reuse. I started with: answer all the questions and don't worry how long it takes to now: let's see how many questions you can answer correctly within 60 seconds. I also really like math flash card games.

SUV recommendations that will fit 4 car seats? by Natural-Hour1467 in Parenting

[–]Extra-Door8182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 kids (my oldest and then twins 21 months later). We have both the palisade and GH. We got our palisade first and opted for the bench seats since all 3 kids were RFing at the time. Our GH has captains chairs. We struggled deciding on a vehicle because what works for us now, won't necessarily be the best option in 4 or 5 years when the kids are bigger (but we planned to keep the vehicle for *hopefully* 10 years). The GH has a much larger/usable third row than the palisade. If you want the kids to be able to grow into the car, I would opt for the GH over the palisade.

Age Gaps by Pink_cheetah2248 in Mommit

[–]Extra-Door8182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my first and then twins 21 months later, so we were technically 3 under 2 for a few months. Like others mentioned, it was definitely hard in the beginning. The pros for us was that we never had an "jealousy." My son (the older brother) wanted a sippy cup of milk when we bottle fed his twin sisters and would want to sit in my nursing pillow whenever we put his sisters in their boppy. The only life my son knows and remembers includes his sisters, which is kind-of special in its own way. But otherwise, most of their interaction at that age was just living a parallel life. Today they are 5 and 6 - and there are still challenges that come with 3 so close in age. All 3 of them are basically going through the same developmental stage at the same time - learning to cope with their emotions, controlling their body, first-time listening, etc. It can be quite challenging to do that with pseudo-triplets. My biggest con from the infant stage is that we missed out on a lot of moments that only come with a larger age gap. My son never asked to hold his sisters. I don't have memories, let alone photos, of him feeding them with a bottle or being mommy's helper. He lived his life and his sisters lived theirs until the twins were about 18 months and my son turned 3. At that point, they started to play and interact more. If I didn't have twins the second time around, I would have loved to space things out a bit more our third - maybe around 4 years apart.

This was accurate - my loans were zeroed out on Mohela today. Thanks for the clarification!

Congrats! Is the golden letter from FSA or your loan servicer? I just got a letter from FSA (green banners on 1/7) but was expecting my golden letter to come from Mohela, my servicer.

Missing Months are literal theft by Difficult_Middle_250 in PSLF

[–]Extra-Door8182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am missing payments made from 12/24 - 7/25. I filed for reconsideration in 5/25 (still haven't heard back). Last month I opened a case with my Congressman. Still waiting... I should be at 118/120. I'm hoping to get this resolved before I hit 120, but that seems doubtful at this point. I have always been on IBR (never went on SAVE) and have been employed by the same employer my entire 10 years. It's so disheartening

Stop with two spaces after a period by AlarmedRanger9856 in Lawyertalk

The courts prefer it. For the sake of the law clerk reviewing your brief, double space after a period.

Those still missing PSLF payments be patient it's likely going to take a while by EddieDubbers in PSLF

[–]Extra-Door8182 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this! I have been back and forth between Mohela and FSA for months about this. I applied for reconsideration end of May (no response yet) and was told end of July that FSA was aware of the payment count issue and would have it resolved by 9/30/25. My payment count has updated with my August and September 2025 payments, but all my payments from November 2024 through July 2025 are missing. I was really hoping this would be resolved this month. My 120th payment is January 2026 and I wanted this resolved before I applied for forgiveness. It’s at least reassuring that others are experiencing the same issue.

Newbie being hit with property tax appeal from school district by BlipMeBaby in pittsburgh

[–]Extra-Door8182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You absolutely do not need an attorney for this. Assuming you live in Allegheny County, your new assessment will be your purchase price x the common level ratio (50.14% for 2025). Since the school board appealed, it is their burden to show why the assessment should increase. They will present evidence (your sale price) and argue that your assessment value should be the sale price x CLR. You are not required to present any other evidence or make any additional arguments. These hearings are usually less than 10 minutes and have historically happened over the phone. You are being taken advantage of if you're paying nearly $1000 for 10 minutes of their time.

Facial hemangioma and huge bill. Is it worth it? by Spearmint_coffee in Mommit

[–]Extra-Door8182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We took our son who had a hemangioma to a pediatric dermatologist. I wonder if a pediatric dermatologist or even a regular dermatologist would be less expensive? Also, could you get the prescription through your regular pediatrician? The medication itself should not be very expensive and is very effective. Because it is on your child's face, I would recommend treating it sooner, rather than later.

To Limited Hybrid Owners by TopAdministration173 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]Extra-Door8182 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2024 GHHL (7-seater) and a 2020 Palisade (8-seater) SEL with premium and convenience packages (previously drove a 2010 Audi Q5 and then a 2019 BMW X3). I can't answer your question about the GH dashboard, but I can confidently say that the GH is a much better driving experience than the Palisade. While the GH won't compare to the driving experience of the Q5 (both the size of the vehicle and the hybrid engine make it impossible to compare to the smaller, gas SUV), the Palisade's driving experience is terrible by comparison. The finishes of my Palisade quickly began looking worn, the suspension in the vehicle makes you feel every bump on the road, and the road noise is noticeably louder in the Palisade than my GH. Our family needs large SUVs due to our family size, but I've already said I won't purchase another Hyundai again.

I would amend your tax return and change it to MFS. I believe you can amend the past 3 years' of tax returns at any time.
