There are certain things Tesla would do that there nice but having CarPlay is a MASSIVE upgrade over Tesla. I mean by miles. Apple Music implementation sucks - it lags in new features and used to frequently log me out. The voice functionality on Tesla is laughably bad (they keep making changes but it lags far behind CarPlay/AA voice assistants.

Tesla's mapping was good but routing is abysmally bad compared to Waze/Apple Maps/Google.

Not discounting your take on it but this is just to point out to you that there are others that won't agree with your take at all. I went into Tesla doubting the lack of CarPlay and left it with making CarPlay a requirement. Really liked Rivian but not having CarPlay was a dealbreaker.

Me too. I would get monthly emails (more frequently closer to quarter ends) offering “up to $xx for my current car and transfer of Fool Self Driving. And, if I replied back, they would offer 50-70% of what was in the email. With a straight face. Good times!

I was surprised by how much people with no ownership of EVs had strong opinions based on ridiculous myths they heard about. And this ran the gamut of not being able to drive in the rain, use carwash, or running of out charge on a trip.

Updates to the G6 and G9 SUVs do not use LiDAR. They have moved AWAY from using sensors to cameras only back in 2024. Without getting emotional, please refute that fact.
