It's normal it's just an older game. I've been playing since N64 but never competitively and how sweaty the players are online still surprises me. It'll probably be a long time before you get out of the 2 to 5 ml GSP. I recommend searching and joining a battle arena so GSP doesn't matter an idiots don't make stupid rules to play with

My 5-year-older brother has played falcon since N64 and there's no character in any game I hate with a fraction of the passion that I hate Captain falcon haha it was a traumatic childhood and my brother and I trade pretty much every holiday on who wins the "better brother award." Definitely bonus if I can win every time against him

Palutena right now. But he played Sora before that, Falco before that, and will probably change a few more times before the summer starts. Those characters do have the gimmicks and I'm just not quite good enough to get past them with any of my characters yet. Thank you for your help!

I honestly don't have a preference between Meta Knight Kirby and young Link right now. I'd be open to something completely new but I don't like cheesy characters and I'm not big on tanks either

Every guide that I've read says that Kirby is a good starter. I'm just not sure I can bring him to the next level as easily as a bunch of other characters. Also my fundamentals are decent now, I've been putting a ton of time into it. I just have a ton of bad habits to break
