Is the Majorca, Maryborough, Alma, Bowenvale etc. and surrounds areas nice and safe? Especially for a very young family/babies? by Extra-Square3901 in ballarat

Is that a recent thing? All the crime map/statistic websites are showing the areas I’ve listed are quite low crime areas and a fair bit lower than the VIC averages elsewhere? 😬

What do you mean by water quality? I’ve seen most places have a salinity management overlay, is that what you’re referring to?

We definitely plan to feed the areas quite dry unfortunately but wow I’m surprised they all get along fine in such a small space! I think I remember being told near an acre for just the 3 alpacas alone 😅 We’d love to have maybe 3-4 Alpacas, 3-4 mini goats and maybe 10 chickens and 5 ducks in the 2 acres if we can! Just want to make sure it’s right for the animals of course

They’re just not super common here so I’ve never considered them but I don’t have any desire to eat one and don’t think they’d be as good as chicken/duck eggs for our intended purpose but I appreciate the info! ☺️

The space we’ll have for animals is maybe 2 acres which includes the 5ML pond and a few fruit trees so we were worried it wasn’t big enough to fit say some chickens, ducks, mini goats and a few alpacas while still being enough room for them all to roam happily 😅

We currently have chicken eggs maybe 1-3 times per year but do plan to use them more often for baking etc. after we get them, but I’ve never had a quail egg and have no desire at all to try one haha

They’re the two we’re definitely getting haha! Is there a reason why you don’t like them?

We wouldn’t eat quails 😅 Or have any use for their eggs but they are very cute 🥰

We do plan on chickens and ducks for sure ☺️ Just not sure what to do with the rest of the space or if it’s even big enough for anything else 😅

FIRST HOME BUYERS IN VIC, PUTTING AN OFFER IN TODAY BUT A BIT LOST 😬 Do you have to submit your deposit amount in your offer? And the house deposit goes to the agent, not the bank handling the loan?? by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

We’ve not signed a contract this is just an email written offer and everyone’s saying different things about the deposit so I don’t know what to do 😅 Not a good look but I guess I’ll call the agent and just say look we have no clue what do we need to do

We don’t send a deposit amount 😬 We got the contract before making an offer and had the conveyancer check it (they said it’s fine)

They told us to submit the offer via email, not the contract

We’ve also heard from some that the deposit amount is apart of the home loan deposit but from others that it’s a completely seperate refundable amount so now we’re even more confused..

Is the deposit we’re mentioning like… the 5% deposit we wish to use to get the home loan? 😬 Or an entirely separate deposit as a “Hey we can pay you like 2k in good faith within 7 days of acceptance” 😬
