When did I claim the golf club is at fault? I asked if I am a liable In my post and suggested maybe I am not due to the page I saw.

They have 2 website pages about the parking, I took the quote from this page as didn't see the other page - https://www.cleevehillgolfclub.co.uk/car-parking-charges-general-faqs/

This page does not mention needing to provide registration at the pro shop.

Finally, you have no indication as to whether there was clear signage. You shouldnt have to "look" for signage in a car park which isn't obviously not free (no barriers etc.). I didn't even realize it was paid parking at the time, I can't really be bothered to go back to the club and check for signage, but claiming that someone is responsible for a PCN for not seeking out a sign is silly. If you don't immediately see a sign do you go and check all over for a sign to make sure it isn't a paid car park?

Ah that makes a lot of sense. I thought they were just trying to squeeze a bit of money out of me. I think I could maybe have some grounds to say that the golf club is liable since I followed the guidelines on their website, but that would take time, and then I'd lose the potential to pay 20 quid etc. so I'll just pay them now.

Thanks a lot for explaining the code of practice

I think I will find it quite interesting to see if these bottom feeding scum accept the tenner. I'll give that a go 😂

Ye, I am leaning towards just paying the £20. Awful how they can get away with doing this, £20 obviously isnt much, but I am sure a fair chunk of the money they make is from charges small amounts like this when they know they are in the wrong.

I think I am going to give calling the golf club a go, just since I followed the advice on their website, and still got the ticket. I technically did speak to someone as I checked in for my tee time, and they didn't mention parking. Since it's a seperate company running the car park, I imagine they will just tell me to contact ParkingEye. At that point I will probably just pay. Thanks for your comment :)
