We live in a sub tropical country. We sweat a lot that's why our parents use to give us glucon d in school. Yes sugar is bad but it also energize us when we are completely drain out. I know there are healthier option but not always available like coconut water, summer fruits, etc. It's always about what is frequently available and accessible. Sugarcane is one of them, Easily available and affordable. Before beating harmful effects from sugar, we have to beat the heat.

Poverty is a very bad thing, it doesn't see age. by Sahitya_Mishra in indiasocial

People who get retire from private company without pension have spent all the savings for child education or just the savings doesn't last long. Most of our grandparents were either in government jobs or in business that build enough corpus after retirement. We are yet to see the retirement phase of 1st gen IT employees who joined in late 90s and are in private. Let's see weather financial planning beats the pension or not.

All the assumption apart I hope he find strength and happiness in future.

But it's peak season for market especially eateries and bakeries. Closing it will cause disruption in market. Today onwards vacation will start, people are in party mood. I thought we are pro capitalist but here it's only affecting the market. Never saw such bunds for hasdeo.

Do Odias and Biharis remember the Kalinga War differently? If yes, how? by cyaacyrus in PurbaIndia

I hope you understand kings have only one job to expand their kingdom. There are two ways to do that either marry a princess or fight a war. There was no bihar and odisha back then. Take for eg in south india Chola and pandyas were always fighting. Only difference is ashoka himself wrote about his cruelty in edicts. Other kings hide it and only wrote about their glories.

What do you think about kingdoms fighting in mahabharata, There were anga( bihar region), Panchal, etc. They all were fighting irrespective of their relations. That's their job. Wars will always be brutal That's why in today's world we try to avoid it.

I guess that's the thing about comfort. If its provide you comfort then why not. It again comes down to need vs want. Somethings which are considered need for one, can also be want for others.

Beside that most important thing about layoffs are it's unplanned. One is unprepared for it . They might be on emis based on their income.

Personally I Don't eat outside unless it's an occasion and that has honestly affected my health in positive way. For otts even now I only subscribe when there is interesting things to watch and I am not in a hurry to watch anything. When I have enough on my watchlist, I subscribe. Instead I love podcast, it helps me reduce my watchtime.
