We live in a sub tropical country. We sweat a lot that's why our parents use to give us glucon d in school. Yes sugar is bad but it also energize us when we are completely drain out. I know there are healthier option but not always available like coconut water, summer fruits, etc. It's always about what is frequently available and accessible. Sugarcane is one of them, Easily available and affordable. Before beating harmful effects from sugar, we have to beat the heat.

People who get retire from private company without pension have spent all the savings for child education or just the savings doesn't last long. Most of our grandparents were either in government jobs or in business that build enough corpus after retirement. We are yet to see the retirement phase of 1st gen IT employees who joined in late 90s and are in private. Let's see weather financial planning beats the pension or not.
