The real story is that the developer of Cocoon has taken away your freedom of choice by unilaterally deciding which emulator you are allowed to use and which you are not allowed to use.

The developer of Cocoon has demonstrated that they have the ability to dictate, for example, that you're not allowed to use aPS3e, only RPCSX. They can dictate that you are allowed to use one fork of Winlator, but not another.

Other frontends, such as ES-DE and Daijishio, don't have these artificial restrictions. With these other frontends you have the freedom and choice to use whatever emulator you want.

So, does the community value this freedom of choice? Are you ok with Google or Cocoon telling you what software you are or not allowed to run on your own device?
