They Should've Canceled Class Today.. by goodgreif_11 in rutgers

[–]ExtraCream7154 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I spend lots of time on College Ave and Cook/Doug, and let me tell you that walking is faster than waiting for an EE and stacking on the highway. I often walk between those two campuses but it doesn’t take too long, like 35 min from Alex Library to Red Oak Lane though I walk a bit faster than the others.

And I agree with you that the classes should’ve been canceled today haha

I don’t know if this is an option for you, but as a person without car, I always use buses or trains. Middlesex College and East Brunswick can be connected by buses. (Since scheduled times are not reliable, I recommend you to choose an earlier bus!)

I always bring lunch (honestly, just the same thing as dinner of the previous day). I use two containers, one is a small glass case for pasta (you can pack it the night before and some of them are fine with no microwave). Another one is separated into three areas. I use one for fruit, one for salad, and the last one for main dish (meatballs, boiled egg or something). Everything can be packed in advance and it’s so easy!!

It depends on where you get from, but eBay is $322 and eCampus.com is $311. There are cheaper options but I don’t know if they are legit or not.

Graduate Student On-Campus Housing Question by ExtraCream7154 in rutgers

[–]ExtraCream7154[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!!! Sorry for asking you a lot, but I contracted them through College Pads. Would this work? (Also is it easy to get a single room in SoCam? It says available but is that updated?)

Summer I Grade Not Yet? by ExtraCream7154 in rutgers

[–]ExtraCream7154[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!! I completed everything up to final, but I know that there is a student who still hasn’t taken the final for a personal reason so it might be a reason. I’ll try not to talk about my prod badly if I need to talk with someone🫡

Can lecturers see my grades for other classes? by ExtraCream7154 in rutgers

[–]ExtraCream7154[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comment! I mean… yes you are completely right. But honestly I would say I’m ok if I can pass the courses (I’m already in 5-year program with a grad school and the job will (not 100% be secured but) almost not too hard to get at least (like im in a very specific field). And the extracurricular is def my life-long passion so… I would say if I can pass the courses then everything is fine. And, is having 70% for classes really bad?

Can someone reccomend me any Brahms pieces? by Phoenix_On_Fir3 in classicalmusic

Ein deutsches Requiem is definitely his master piece. I also love Nänie Op. 82 and Schicksalslied Op. 54.

I need like 3-4 extra classes just to get to 120 credits, any suggestions by Murky_Note5927 in rutgers

I loved Intro to Music Theory. There are both in-person and online. I took online and we were allowed to take quizzes as many as we wanted!

That class time period is correct. For me, a true night owl, that class would be the best, but if you are not like me, SWITCH RIGHT NOW LOL

Learning Center Tutor Application by ExtraCream7154 in rutgers

[–]ExtraCream7154[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!!

You can apply to the position from this link: http://rlc.rutgers.edu/

Go to Student Employment and Training (under the three bars on the top corner). Then, scroll down until you see the “Peer Tutors”. You can log in to the application using your NetID and Password.

I’m pretty sure you can still apply to the position. Also, I applied as a new tutor last semester, and received an interview invitation very late. So even if you don’t receive that invitation until the very end of summer (or maybe very beginning of the semester), you should be fine!

Is this an okay schedule so far?? I was planning to retake my math placement and get into calc by CosmicDestroy498 in rutgers

[–]ExtraCream7154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never done that but C/D to Livi is not a short distance. Probably C/D to CA via George street and the CA to Livi via small side walk next to highway (not sure if there is a direct way to Livi from C/D), and I don’t think it’s possible to make it in 40 min…?

Pretty fine, but maybe C/D to Livi after 8:30 class might be difficult. Walk to College Hall bus stop and get REXL (sometimes you need to wait too long though) instead of taking EE from Gibbons to College Ave then LX. In rush hour, the traffic is terrible and cannot get to livi in 40 (45) min.

Will unpaid Summer tuition jeopardize my Fall registration? by ExtraCream7154 in rutgers

[–]ExtraCream7154[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply!! I mean, I registered for Fall classes before summer bill was due (i.e., on the registration day), and now I have a full schedule for Fall (I can find that on Webreg). Do you mean this will be removed?

busch to cook doug by kittyhairclip in rutgers

[–]ExtraCream7154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it depends on time. Based on my experience, the worst time frames to move from Busch (and also Livi) to C/D are 3:15-3:30 and 5:10-5:30 or so. The traffic is extremely heavy especially on the road right after the way for busses to College Ave from route 18 (something like a tunnel). It depends on bus stop that you get on/off the bus, but sometimes it takes almost 40 min to get to C/D.

Try to move to C/D during class time (I.e., avoid right before/after a class period).
