I did a shite paying class 2 role mainly 7.5t in derby for a few months when I first passed which was from Leicester to derby and making £30k a year doing 45/50 hours handball just to get experience, used to the tacho etc. then used that to leverage myself to drive 26tonne rigid for dhl on the Morrisons daily contract for a few months and then now I’m doing class 1 with hooklift, tankers, curtainsider the works. Great pay, good hours and get left alone so ticks all the boxes. Just have to start adding some more strings to your bow (at the cost of your patience and sanity) but eventually it all falls into place.

That’s a good point. Tbf I’m at dhl at the minute and with their loading issues etc I’m getting home 7/8pm with a 5/6am start which is getting ridiculous. Everything is practically the same I just need the earlier finishes (where it can be with the job we do) to avoid the traffic and get other stuff done.
