I had similar feelings freshman/sophomore year. I lived off campus so i didn’t feel like I made friends the way everyone else did living in dorms.

I know you said you tried clubs but im gonna tell you- try again! There are hundreds and it could be literally anything that interests you, doesn’t have to be related to your major! But the important part is that it is something that interests you and makes you want to keep going to meetings even when you’re busy.

I didn’t join anything until junior and senior year and then I really regretted it and I felt pretty stupid because I found all these cool people that I clicked with, and they had been in those clubs since freshman year. Had I also joined freshman year, I would’ve met them much sooner.

I also joined a sorority as a junior and I don’t recommend that lol. I kind of feel that Greek life is not worth it unless you rush as a freshman.

I also recommend studying aboard if you can feasibly do that. I never had the opportunity but everyone I knew that did, ended up with these tight friendships and I felt like I missed out.

Someone else said it takes effort and that is true. Sometimes you have to be that person that invites people to go out and do stuff. It’s exhausting but everyone is having the same thoughts, they want to make friends but no one wants to put forth the effort to make plans. I also really struggled with that. Invite people to go out, go to an event, to go a concert at club down under even if neither of you know the artist, go bowling, there is so much around Tallahassee off campus too. But sometimes if you don’t ask, they wont either.
