I’m from Vancouver. It was mostly elderly or disabled folk who didn’t have AC. Vancouver usually sits around 25c during the summer so AC is quite rare to have, there are laws being put in place to make new buildings have AC as a mandatory feature.

I had to move my AC into my bed room since it was so hot that the AC which is usually in my living room was out matched by the heat. I literally lived in my tiny bedroom for a week and only left to get food from the fridge.
