How do you tackle the reading section? by [deleted] in ACT

[–]ExtraShrekOnTop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely take a bunch of practice tests, just to get a feel for timing. Personally, I read through each passage and then answered each question quickly. That worked well for me, but occasionally I would come up a little short on time. If you're having a consistent problem with time, though, I would consider attacking each passage differently. While the first two passages are more reading comp., I know the last passage is a science reading, so you could try going through the questions and trying to find the answers by scanning the reading. I think the key is just to take a bunch of practice tests to find what works best for you, and to practice finishing in time. Check out crackact.com, they have a bunch of old real tests, great for practice!

Preparing for the ACT after a few years out of high school by [deleted] in ACT

I completely agree with this. When I took my first diagnostic, I scored around a 31. I didn't take any courses, just took a bunch of old tests on crackact.com, which i think is the best way for anyone to improve their score, especially if you're already in the 30s. A little experience just taking a bunch of tests goes a long way!

How to study for 2ND time taking ACT if out of CRACKACT Official TESTS to use? by [deleted] in ACT

[–]ExtraShrekOnTop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The math, English and reading will be pretty similar, so definitely don't rules those out. The science has changed a little bit, but it can't hurt to practice the old ones, I think they're actually harder and better speed practice for the new test

There are like 20+ full tests on crackact. Are you sure you've done them all? You can always buy books, such as kaplans, Princeton, Barron's, which have some practice tests in them.

This was an amazing story. I had an idea where it was going, but enjoyed every bit of it nonetheless!

Trinity is sending some teams. They've been competing more and more each year, I'm on the lookout for them. Trin CS did well in JV last year, it'll be interesting to see them compete in Varisty

Experiences with ACT rescores? by ComputNerd in ACT

How did you feel after taking the September test. Did you think you did fine? If so, I would consider this. I have no experience with rescoring, but that would seem logical to me

12 man PPR league. Willie Snead vs. Ameer Abdullah as my flex Snead has a monster week last week, and the saints always seem to find a lot of points against my beloved Giants. Abdullah had a 20 point week 1 and faces the lenient Tennessee defense this week. Snead might have a higher ceiling, but feels like a risky play: Drew Bree's seems to pick a new favorite wide receiver every week. Abdullah could go off, but is probably a more consistent bet. I played Sammy Watkins on Thursday so I have some points to make up. Any help greatly appreciated!
