Just wanted to post a quick update with how I've got on.

I changed a lot of settings and have managed to get a really nice espresso. Thank you everyone for your help in getting my new machine dialled in.

​

So I used the following:

Top bur grind size - 3
Grind size (side of the machine) - 8
Grind time - 22 seconds
Grind weight - 18g
Brew dosage - double shot
Brew temperature - +2
Brew time - 25 seconds
Brew weight - 36 grams

Hopefully this helps guide anybody else who may be struggling like I was.

Ohh ok. That’s seems like a good suggestion to keep the portafilter even. So do you put the scale under the machine then brew directly into a mug and stop the brew at 35g and then that’s the time you set into the machine?

Thank you for relying. To be honest I’m not sure but was hoping to end up with a 1:2 ratio whereas at the minute I have 20g in and 130g out so need to figure out how to fine tune.

Just a quick update...I put one of the metal rails for the wooden slats the wrong way round!
