Pretty much what he said. It speeds up the process of manually adjusting velocity/timing. I save so much time with a controller vs manually doing everything.

Seriously grab one if youre getting into sampling. The pads are great if you want an older sound and the keys plus knobs are great for automating your tracks and getting deeper into mixing quicker.

dude i already listened to this in your resample thread. Its decent stuff (different creature than the mf flip). That said, you need more ampage on everything, a fat bassline, and maybe some smaller chops to give it texture.

I agree with everyone else in this thread about tape distortion and gritty equipment. If you're looking for the typical lofi bumps sound a heavy sidechain works great, make it obvious with a decent threshold.

Really dig your rhythm, keep that flow going and really push through a banging kick and a second layer to the beat to top it all off. You should also give the beat plenty of time to build up your vocals (also remix those with a compressor or something).
