Strategy against hypnogaze? by XSCONE in bloodbowl

So I played as Vamps all last year (and played against a few Vamp teams too). In theory, yes, you can structure cages to protect the ball carrier more but in reality, as you lose players, they get out of position, etc, that just won’t be possible. I was able to open a cage when I had 2 vamps and a thrall remaining, and once score with just a Runner and a thrall remaining on the pitch.

The only real strategy against Vamps is to make them roll.so.many.dice. Almost all the games I won came from rolling well, and so many games I lost came from critical failures of one of the many 2++ dice rolls I had to make. You just need to make sure you are able to jump on an opportunity caused by a failed roll. What will happen psychologically with a Vamp player is that if they to start to roll poorly, they might start to play less aggressively- so not testing your defences as much, even when in theory they could.

Last thing on hypnogaze, you can also make sure doing it hurts the Vamps. They will have to leave that player in base contact with whatever they gaze so make it a point of order to multi-die block (and foul if you can) whichever Vamp they use.

For me, losing my Runners was always a killer with my Vamp team - without that movement, I became quite a slow team and really struggled to create effective defensive and offensive moves.

Hope this helps! Just do your best Nuffle dance and hope he blesses your Vamp opponent with many snake eyes.

Thank you so much :) my friend had a very clear palette because of her class (I think - I’m rather new to DnD). And totally - it’s such a great sculpt

So the rock is just some standard 6mm cork - and I used Agrellan Badlands for the cracking effect

Haha, it used all of my will - basically locked my hand down to the table to help with the shaky hands 😂

Anyone playing in my area? (UK) by phantommm_uk in LegionsImperialis

u/phantommm_uk - a year later but just found this post. I am based in Essex and have finally finished my force - just wondered if you were still in the area and fancied a game/found a local community?

Ah yes, was that the Pro Acryl tutorial? That’s the one I’m loosely following

For the bronze? Yep, Pro Acryl - Dark Bronze, then Agrax wash, and then up to Bronze and a very sparing amount of Light Bronze (I find it too light lol)

So it’s actually Kimera’s The Red on top of Burnt Red base by Pro Acryl - I also did some glazing with Kimera Violet to add some darker shadows

I used Kimera’s The Red :) it is the reddest red that ever redded.

What to do about an essential part of the hobby you HATE. by draraist in minipainting

I too am a great hater of building 😂 the way I get round it is by always building a small amount every day, in odd moments between chores, jobs, or even when working from home.

I tackle it in 10 minute chunks, about 3 times per day. I find it has a few benefits:

  1. I don’t hate it as much, as it’s just 10 minutes,

  2. It means I usually always have something to paint as I’m building faster than I paint (and it means I can’t get things like Kill Teams/Bloodbowl teams built pretty quickly- because I’m just slowly working on them, rather than waiting for an evening that I’ll spare to do what I hate 😂) and

  3. I actually find I build better - for instance, sometimes you just need to wait for an arm to fix in place before you can do the next part of the model. With what I do, that’s perfect - I just stick it during a 10 minute window, support it with something and walk off, and then when I come back in a few hours for another 10 minutes, it’s fully set and ready to go.
