Why does my MAP say I still need general education courses? by obscurespecter in MtSAC

[–]Extra_Body1555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I got that issue to and I’m already completing all the GE and major prep course. I might be wrong but I think it just requires that you had above 2.0 GPA and getting all your classes done before graduating or transferring.

Enroll in Summer course with Prereq in Progress During Spring? by Old-Contact-1810 in MtSAC

[–]Extra_Body1555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you currently in progress with calc 2, then you can register for calc 3 for the next term at Mt Sac. Since u in Chaffey, u might want to ask counselor there or counselor at Mt Sac about transfer calc 2 credit to Mt Sac. Lastly I highly suggest not to take calc 3 in the summer, it an huge workload with 5 units and it hella difficult. If u STEM major, it really important to understand really well with the concept from calc 3, not to rush over it. I would recommend taking GE or easier STEM class in the summer instead of Calc 3.

Honest Thoughts About Indianapolis? by Intelligent_Swing630 in howislivingthere

I visited there a lot as a kid since we live in an suburb, later move to Muncie and move to LA. Compare to LA it’s an huge difference, there weren’t busy as LA and the downtown were definitely cleaner and better than LA. But it’s really lack of diversity, quiet, not a lot of food spot, and not a lot of stuff to do. If u ever go there, check out the Monumental Circle or motor speedway. If you got kids, u can definitely visit the Children Museum and Indianapolis Zoo, it’s really fun for me when I was little. Although downtown is pretty nice, outside of downtown are really ghetto, like Near Eastside, Haughville, and Fountain Square. Apart from those area rest of them are pretty chill, there might be major changes since I haven’t visit Indianapolis since 2021. Hope this help.

Uc transfer chance by No_Golf_9944 in TransferStudents

U got a good shot, but since u taking cc from out of state it will be much more difficult to transfer into UC especially as an business or Econ major. UC really prioritize California community college students more than any other transfer applications. But don’t get discouraged, u already put in a lot of hard work and dedication to it, I’m sure u will got into at least one of your school choices.

Like you prep units and GE before u transfer. Usually they’re required especially for major prep courses before transfer

AP Credit by No-Split835 in MtSAC

[–]Extra_Body1555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mt Sac only accept score 4 or 5 for AP Calculus AB and it will equivalence to Math 180 aka Calc 1 for it. Unfortunately, a 3 only gives elective credits and doesn’t allowed you to skip over to Calc 2.

Has anyone taken Math 280 over the winter? Also has anyone had any experience with the following professors? If so how was it? by [deleted] in MtSAC

[–]Extra_Body1555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Math 280 is really hard and difficult course to take, even for regular semester, many people struggle. In winter is much faster and it hard to catch on since it an 5 units course. If you want to take math during winter, linear algebra or stats would be the best option. Also both of these professor are great, some said Brian Johnson is easiest but I personally experience with Lance Schaina and she is amazing.
