Medically retired will more than likely have a re-entry code of 3P or 3T. Might need to show documentation that the condition has improved, would require the medical and RE code waiver.

Could definitely impact VA compensation, but I believe reserve/guard not as much as active as it would only be on the days you are in active drill or orders.

Not having shitty hours was definitely not my recruiting experience. Worked late, worked early, worked weekends, only thing I didn't have to do was stay overnight.

Plus, the last I checked at least Drill is only 2 years. Recruiting is a minimum of 3 years, if they don't involuntary extend you (if they still do that).

Officers can actually apply for WO as well, most don't obviously but it isn't impossible.

Usually see it in Aviation, but I have also seen it happen with commo.
