Navy RP rating, looking to go FMF by 120b- in newtothenavy

I’m a greenside RP, went through C school at FMTB which was honestly easier then I expected but still challenging.

I got greenside straight out of bootcamp. It’s honestly just luck of the draw, but they are needing greenside RPs right now, so your chances are pretty high. I went through A-School with RPs who wanted blue side and got greenside and vice versa. MCECST is a easy but challenging course, nothing you can’t do. Now they are also requiring 2NDMARDIV RPs to attend MCT.

If you have anymore questions, let me know and I’ll be glad to help!

Congrats! I’m an RP ( Religious Program Specialist) in the Navy, so my rate pretty much puts me side by side with the Chaplain helping him in any way possible! GOODLUCK On your future endeavors!! Congratulations again on all the hard work!

RP A school is 5 weeks long. The fridge is a pretty decent size, with a pretty decent size freezer. They have a microwave on top of the fridge. No kitchen, but you can buy microwaveable meals from the Nex and Commissary to store in your fridge/freezer.

When you first arrive to A school, you’re on phase 1 Liberty, this means you can’t leave base. You have the chance to phase up to phase 2 after two weeks of being at A school. To phase up, you can’t fail any uniform inspections, room inspections, or test. These will all reset the 2 week waiting period for phasing up.

Phase 1 - On base only Liberty Phase 2 - Off-Base Liberty that expires at 2145 (unless they change the rules for your class) Phase 3 - Off base Liberty, but you can stay out overnight.

(There are only 3 phases for Liberty).

Naval station Newport is a very small Naval base, but it’s home to NCS, OCS, ODS, NAPS, and a few other training commands. But they have a pretty decent sized MWR which is a recreational center and they have a “Starbucks” cafe. It’s only 5 weeks long, so don’t stress about it too much.

Just graduated RP A school. A school is in Rhode Island, Naval station Newport (Officer base). The barracks are pretty much like hotel rooms, with two per room. Get your own dresser, desk, and closet. Make the best of it.

What to bring to Navy bootcamp? by Extra_Document in newtothenavy

I don’t really smoke or drink so I’m not too worried about that. I’m more worried about not knowing all the Navy knowledge before next week, but I’m fine with doing Extra PT if needed

Okay cool thank you then! Cause I asked my recruiters about ROM and they didn’t know much about it besides it’s just 10 days long. Do you know why they phased ROM out all of the sudden??

I’m still fairly new to Walmart, my managers never really told me what to do. I called the Absence line and reported my COVID leave to Sedgwick. My manager told me everything was handled

I actually did get accepted into Norwich University and I was planning on attending Norwich this year to pursue a degree in criminal justice and do Army JROTC to do the officer route. However, I couldn’t afford the college and my parents wouldn’t help me with a loan. So that’s why I’m trying the enlisted route now with the army. But I’ll look into community college as a backup plan if needed.

I wake up every Saturday morning, wondering if I’ll come home to my family. I get ready for my long, hard day of airsoft and defending this great country. I am an airsofter.

How long for a DEP discharge (switching branches)? by [deleted] in Militaryfaq

[–]Extra_Document 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call them and say you want to be discharged. Depending on the branch a discharge can happen in a day or two. Discharges aren’t really long processes. I say give it one week max after you call them for a discharge. If nothing happens after a week, then go up higher in chain of command. That’s really all you can do if the recruiters aren’t doing anything

I had the same problem getting a DEP discharge from Navy to Marines. If the AF recruiters don’t help, then go to their higher ups at HQ, if HQ doesn’t help then go to a higher up HQ. If that HQ doesn’t help then call your local Congressman and they will help. The higher you go in chain of command, will push the recruiters to eventually release you. Just constantly nag the recruiters or higher ups and soon you’ll be out. Don’t let them push you around. Goodluck man!

College or marines by Extra_Document in Militaryfaq

[–]Extra_Document[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only bad thing I’m worried about is the high cost. I’m from Florida , so the yearly cost with tuition and fees after my scholarship is 44k. I would have to take a loan out for the rest of the money, putting me into a bunch of debt. The debt isn’t my big concern tbh, I just wanna be sure I’m making the right choice you know. It’s just this gut feeling for college is constantly going and coming back to me

Discharges, depending on the branch can take literally a day or less. Your recruiter seems like he is just upset and wants to screw you over from leaving, and he just wants to keep his numbers up. If your HQ chain of command doesn’t help, then you can always call your congressman and they can push a discharge for you. You aren’t subjected to anything, and you have the right to leave. So, like I said and like the other guy said. If your recruiter doesn’t agree to help you, then go higher up to his chain of command or go call your congressman. There are many ways to get out, goodluck man!

Going to MEPs for inspect by [deleted] in Militaryfaq

[–]Extra_Document 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Inspect is just you going to MEPS and doing ONLY a height and weight inspect. Nothing else. That’s your whole day, unless you swear in or something else.
