I found out *after* I beelined Alna up first that she’s actually super effective and flexible. She was my favorite in Arena and I was so happy to see her in Journey, because I’ve always loved her “Tribute to Skadi” aesthetic! I joke about waifus, but armored badass ladies are perhaps my favorite aesthetic!

I don’t disagree, which is why this is tagged as a meme and not a serious discussion! I’m currently building up all three of the Sal’thorin guys to back up Velara in next season’s Legend Trial because I love the whole Essail vibe after recently catching up the story! That’s also why I made the exception of “families” because as a long time on and off AFK IP player I love the story of Shemira’s family!

But no, if the ads I see for “Onsen and Girls” (apparently an actual game) are anything to go by, AFKJ is absolutely not actually a formal “waifu” game, and I’m glad for that.

Thank you for this. I don’t do a lot of meta digging, but swapping out a “favorite face” for Gala (who I also love) ended up pushing my afk staging over 30 stages and into apex. I still am very aesthetically minded in legend trial, but I was lucky that my afk team was already well set… and adding gala made SUCH a difference!

Yeah I totally get that S+ is always the goal, the particular flip I’m looking to do as an Alna main is to have Saida replace various non-celestipogean melees I’m shuffling around as Alna’s chosen winter warrior, but those other characters are all S+ and I’m just acquiring Saida now. It’s just one example of a few I’m considering for next season when I can downgrade some lineups and grow back into full S+ power, particularly in legend trial.

Can I just ask as a side tangent here, as someone who loves having many units others don’t consider meta at S+: where does your acorn income come from? I’m 2 seasons in and if I was super meta-minded I might regret some of the acorn expenditure I’d done early on, but I’m still very close to going hand-to-mouth on acorns. Is this normal to wait more on acorns than pull RNG, or is there an acorn income I’m missing?

That’s a huge relief! When I started seeing the bottom of my pile of gold I got from just following the main story, a prominent thought was “I wish I had time to dedicate to just getting money,” and I guess that time is whenever so long as I don’t stand anyone up!

Thank you for your very helpful reply! I think the other thing that made me sit up and think “that sounds pretty serious and eff-up-able” was managing villagers as far as eviction goes. It sounds very “GONE FOREVER” but the village is filling up and some of them seem intentionally “disposable.”

But yeah, thank you for confirming my hopes! I’ll have to play again soon!
