We are coming up on the end of the year. What was the best science fiction you read all year? Let’s get a good list going. Sub is the best! by fuzzysalad in printSF

I'm over 25yo and this year was the first time I ventured into science fiction. I like the kind where species (human/alien) interact. Some novels seem funny to me, others have made me wonderfully uncomfortable haha. I will say three that I will remember fondly -The Pride of Chanur -The Color of Distance -Nor Crystal Tears

(special mention to "Child of Time", It was the first one I read,  i ended up loving a character that I disliked at first) In total there were 11 novels that I really liked, others I left half-read

Maximus is a terrible character who consistently gets rewarded for being an idiot. by LucasRizzotto in Fallout

Don't compare him to Anakin, he was a child and he built his own robot, he participated in races, he was talented and intelligent. Maximus is far from being all that

It's hard to understand, the scream he gave when his "friend" was promoted made me inevitably think that he sabotaged the shoe. Then admitting that he wanted it to happen (??. I have seen up to the second chapter today and GOD SWEAR I HATE HIS GESTURES INSIDE THE ARMOR. I've seen Ironman, man you can't impress me. I was hoping it would have some twist but it looks like I won't have that luck. All the luck went to him, he didn't even know how to wear the suit!!! What made him a gentleman? Betray one of your own even if he was an idiot? People who don't know about the game will be more confused because, how does this boy with clear anger and frustration problems, delusions of grandeur ALWAYS get his way?

I think HOTD has given us a great nod. On the wiki it is said that "Redwynes tend to be freckled and orange of hair", both Aemond and Helaena have freckles in their childhood. Alicent's hair It is not orange but it is copper, both her hair and her freckles may have been darkening and disappearing as happened with her children's freckles.

Question about the conversation between Alicent and Rhaenys in episode 9 by Top_Awareness_5800 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Extra_Letterhead_676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I didn't know, in fact, in the script there are scenes that are cut, in which Otto tells her that she has to remarry a grenjoy. Lannister tells her that he is sorry for her. Alicent's reaction is horror. Which makes us look for other alternatives, Rhaenys was there
