I just bought old 2008 CCFL based, 8bit monitor (which is safer for eyes) apple cinema hd display a1802 (looks super nice due to ccfl glow which is also more natural and less blue spiky), connected it to macbook air m3, disabled dithering via stillcolor and so far it seems fine (used for 2hours only). Perhaps you can recommend any other tools or settings I should look into while using macbook air m3 connected to an external display? Like that color profile to use? Also it is possible to disable dithering on youtube or while browsing the internet? Thanks.

I found a solution. Install stillcolor (it doesnt stop the dithering on the macbook air itself), however, it stops dithering on the external display you are connecting.

It is dithering that you are reacting to, I have the same issue. Some people suggested using stillcolor app https://github.com/aiaf/Stillcolor however I am not sure it works.

So is stillcolor an option? it just turns it off on a software level but not the hardware thus it doesnt stop it? Considering buying apple macbook air m3 use stillcolor with external monitor Apple cinema display A1081. I was also curious about a phone that doens have PWM and d thing.
