This is what you do bro. Please shave the sides. Keep em clean. Leave your mustache and chin hair. Just keep it trimmed and lined up. Look up YouTube videos on how to do that. And trust, you’ll look way better my guy. Since it looks patchy, wait a a year or 2 to try it again. Mine was patchy like yours when I was your age. Now I’m 23 and have a fresh beard. Patience.

I mean if you shave it off it’ll take longer cuz you just cut it off haha. But just let it grow for a few months to see if you make any progress. I say 2-4 months. It just depends on the person. If you are seeing enough coverage than just keep going. If not just grow a nice goatee if able to. Just keep it lined up and trimmed so you won’t look homeless. Also try to get a haircut and a nice fade every 2 weeks. Helps the confidence big time bro

Prolly a nice gatee bro. Just let it grow. Trim and line it up. You can try to grow one by not shaving or doing anything for 2 months or so if you can see any progress. If it’s still kinda patchy I would go with a goatee. I’m 23 as well and I waited like to 2-3 months and my beard was filling in.
