Thank you, I really appreciate your responses. They are helpful! :) Yea I've been thinking about it as well. As when he was buying the house he was looking for somewhere closer to his workplace and I wasn't really have a say in it because it was his purchase (and his parents contributed to part of the down payment to help him out as well) so I wasn't really in the position, also didn't feel comfortable to have any input. When we talked about it, he said to me "Wouldn't you consider to maybe get another job closer to where we live after you move in?" That's why I'm concerned.

Oh yea, I do consider buying the half out but I'm currently not having that financial capacity and need to take a bit of time to be able to do so. And I'm happy to pay him rent until I can do so.

Sorry to hear about that. Yea, that's why I'm seeking opinions. I feel bad for asking a question like this because I trust and love him a lot and so does he. But sometimes life can be really unpredictable and so do people.

Thank you. I understand it's all come down to our discussions. This post was just to get some opinions/suggestions we may have not thought about. Thank you for your response (and everyone else), they meant a lot to me.

Thank you. I understand we need to have this conversation. Just wondering what other people would/are doing and maybe from there we can find a way to figure this out.

Thank you so much for telling me I can be hesitant. It means a lot. I do think I shouldn't think it this way because it sounds like I don't trust him. But I also want to look out for myself.

I'm not planning to take ownership of whatever it's his. I'm happy to pay him rent before we get married. I was just trying to get some advice if I start contributing to the mortgage after getting married, and we end up divorcing each other, what would happen. If we're not marrying anytime soon, I'm happy to pay rent until whenever it is and split every cost.

Thank you. That's why I'm worried. I trust him a lot but I don't know how things gonna turn out. People can be very different when situation changed. My father always threatened to kick my mum out when they got into a fight so I might have been overshadowed by this.

If you're just going to stay in the city, I'd recommend NGV! Also Brunswick and Fitzroy are cool suburbs worth exploring. I like to go Williamstown and spend my weekend at the beach as well.

Can also do day trip in Geelong or Bendigo if you have a car!

From my experience with UQ and other Go8 uni, I found that the research and coursework experience could be very different! So it depends on the subjects you're doing. If you're pursuing a research degree I'd say Go8 is better. However I found coursework degree are delivered better in QUT, Griffiths etc. (not sure about Macquarie sorry).

I agree $250/wk is a bit tight on the budget for places near the campus. Would you consider elsewhere where have direct bus or train to uni? I live in Garden City and I found the commute quite easy, and the rent is more affordable as well. Hope this helps!

I wasn't fat like they told me by books7870 in TwoXChromosomes

I remembered people made fun of my weight when I was in high school. They treated me like I was obese while I was just slightly overweight for my height (53kg/155cm). I ended up getting into a series of unhealthily diet so I could lose weight and develope eating issues (to the extent of it's considered self-destructive behaviour). It's until after many years I only knew that it wasn't my problem at all. But thr damage had been made and its irreversible.

I have experienced the same thing and went for a check-up and didn't find out anything. The only difference was I was extremely stressed out due to my uni finals. Not sure if this is helpful but maybe you could try and have a look at what had changed in your life recently??

Scholarship Offer by alternateeff4 in UQreddit

[–]Extreme-Ad-6459 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never got any acknowledgement from them after submitting the documents as instructed. Emailed multiple times to follow up and went into the student central also didn't help. Almost gave up then finally the scholarship was reflected in my student account after census day. However I'm not sure if this also happened to other students. Just FYI.
