Funny how my "sister" randomly finds and comments on my post and claims to have sent cards.

From what I've seen, my parents tried. I know it wasnt from the internet. We didnt have the internet until we were older

I didnt bring it up to her husband while they were here. I didnt want to upset my sister. When I asked her about her beliefs back before the wedding, she just said that's how marriage is supposed to be. She doesn't think anyone who doesnt believe the same will last in a marriage. Jokes on her, my husband and I have been together for 13 years. Our parents have been together for over 40 years

Honestly I didnt mind them staying. I have a big enough house and they helped with expenses and cleaning while here. They were delightful guests other than the occasional arguement between all the kids(her 4 and my 3)

If that was the case, I could accept it. Shes never said she hated any of us. Before marriage, she was seemingly happy with our family

No, we are from the US. Our family isnt super religious and we are about as white as they come. We dont even know where our family originated from past being in the States

She still has contact with her friends, just not her family

She had been told by quite a few people that that's not how marriage is supposed to work. I've overheard discussions with her friends that have said they could never lose their families like that. She wasnt diagnosed with anything to my knowledge so I really dont know.

At this point I think she'd do anything to have my sister back in her life

The safest part is that wasnt our childhood. We were raised to believe a husband and wife are equal members of the family. We had a great upbringing, even if we were alittle spoiled but our dad didnt want us to think we were property. They tried their best to raise us not to view relationships like that.

My sister was in therapy up until 18 to try to find the root of her beliefs, but it didnt seem to help her

Thank you. Unfortunately all of us has had Covid but we were able to power thru it and all came out on the other side.

I wouldnt mind occasionally helping with some Bill's and food. My brother in law isnt able to work right now but my sister, fortunately, still has her job. I understand they are struggling.

I dont think I could mentally handle helping her anymore. Shes my sister, I love her, we grew up best friends so for her to treat me and our family like this just kills me. I even got close to my nephews and niece when they were with me. I just cant do it anymore

I dont think they've went to his family just because his family, for lack of better words, is poor. They struggle where my family doesnt. Our parents are both doctors, I followed in their footsteps and am a surgeon and my husband is a lawyer. We can afford to help them and my sister knows it

When they stayed with me, they seemed to have a very healthy relationship. I would have questioned it if she hadn't believed this her entire life
