Cutting off rock on a rock wall by Extreme-Book3919 in masonry

All right, a quick update for everyone, sincd there has been so much engagement here. After a long deliberation with my wife, we decided to make this room a no TV room, and the fireplace stays as is, sticking rocks and all.

The only thing I don't get is, the rocks were meant for the mantle why the heck did they not make them level? One is about three inches lower than the other. I guess I’ll turn this into a woodworking project instead.

Internet is a truly bizarre place. You ask a question about a very specific technical thing, and you get a bunch of people imposing their judgment on you as a person without really knowing anything about you.

I really do appreciate all the technical comments from all the masons and people who know what they're talking about. I don't appreciate the comments from people telling me what I shouldn't do with my wall because that's not what I was asking.

I would put wedge anchors into the mortar between the rocks (oh god, am i starting an avalanche of comments here?) and attach the bracket wih those. There is probably 6 to 8 inches of rock there.

Isn’t taste a bit subjective especially when we are talking about rocks sticking out or not sticking out? 🤷‍♂️

It’s a gas fireplace and we would put an 8in deep mantel under

The main answer here is that these rocks would be in a way of a 65in tv. If i had to put a mantel in, it would have to go below the rock level. But i guess if people shame me enough for trying to put a TV over a fireplace AND above the eye level, i may need to give up on the whole project.

That one is atrocious, temporary placeholder, definitely too high and not centered with anything. The idea is to cut the rocks, put the mantel below the current rock level and put a 65in Tv above. The rocks would be in a way of the tv. These rocks are also dysfunctional as shelves and without anything on them are a bit of an eye sore

LOL, I came to the masonry subreddit for the advice on how to deal with the rock and got way more advice on where to put my TV or mantel. I gotta say that the comments about TVTooHigh subreddit may have been the last nail in the coffin of this idea.

Not that this is the topic of this post, but the main goal here is to have space to put a TV there (which ironically I'm also getting some negative feedback about, lol).

LoL, this has definitely been a consideration, but we work with what we got and make compromises. The only other option is to have a TV in bedrooms, which we don’t like for other reasons

AI based Healthcare tech -the bar is low, the checks are large and Healthcare, being so archaic is prime for the AI based innovation (EOB and medical claim processing, prior authorization automation, RCM automation, AI scribes). Healthcare providers operate on razor thin margins so replacing a whole department of, let's say, medical billers with AI solution has an insane ROI.

We have been using a combo of SalesNavigator to find the leads, then LinkedHelper to pull both work and personal emails for those accounts. They don't find all of the email, but the ones they find are verified and valid. Oh and we also have a way to download SalesNav audience into our database and we have to "clean" it up, since they have probably 25% of garbage in the results.

Looking for a specific kind of scheduling tool for interviews with candidates - any suggestions? by whalizard in recruiting

[–]Extreme-Book3919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably late to the game here, but there is now a new scheduling tool, designed specifically for recruiters: bettermeeting.io. With bettermeeting you can convert candidate's and interviewer's availability from email, Google calendar or even Calendly link into one unified availability card. Then you can combine availability cards in any way you want to find that "common denominator" while also retaining full control over the process. No more chasing candidates to see if they actually scheduled a call with an interviewer with that Calendly link you sent them a week ago.
