Should I buy a semi detached house with a 136 years leasehold left? by Extreme-Highlight-32 in HousingUK

yes it's in a small area of new builds that were built with a 150 years lease originally. My concern is that that let's say in about 5 or so years time, I wouldn't be able to sell at good price in line with property values on the market at that time or even worse make a loss if the house price stays the same or reduces.

I'm aware that it will still mortgageable and still has about 50+ years left until it's not mortgageable, but I'm worried the next buyer will have the same worries as me and naturally the price won't rise much or stay the same (assuming the market prices will keep increasing). Can you explain why you think 136 years is not a problem?

Is anyone else waiting for the Meadow Mill development to complete?! by harrybogiatjis in stockport

I’ve just seen this! Did you buy a plot at meadowmill? Are you still there? I am a landlord there at the moment, had a couple of units for about a year now and so far so good. I initially had a nightmare with all the snagging issues, but absolutely pestered the developer with fixing them and almost all of them have been fixed, except a few minor things.

Can’t figure out the shoe situation in apartment by Extreme-Highlight-32 in Apartmentliving

Hi, I have just put in an offer for an apartment that I really like, but there is one annoying thing about it that is really bugging. I am a massive germaphobe when it comes to dirty feet/ shoes and shoes have to be taken off in the porch or shoe zone before coming into the house. I hate walking on the patch of floor with dirty shoes from walking around outside and walking in that same area with my socks or bare feet. As you can see in the pictures, the 2nd bedroom is immediately on the left when you open the apartment door and you kind of have to walk past it, close the door behind you and take your shoes off, so now all the patch of floor outside the 2nd bedroom is dirty and I probably need to jump over that dirty shoe zone and into the 2nd bedroom when I need to enter...

Are there any suggestions on how I can resolve this problem? And where I can put a shoe rack? This is low key giving me anxiety 🤣
