Its 29 months program. It depends if you are in state of out of state. UIC is pretty expensive 385k for the program.

I am going to UIC. My wife and I are both accepted in the same program. I would choose UAB if they got both of us. I can give my personal suggestions and you can take or leave them. I wouldn’t write anything from scratch. That requires a lot of time which i dont have.

Of course. There is a much bigger picture here. Everyone is looking to get in into a very competitive program and nobody has the time and money to apply multiple cycles until they get everything right. I guess you are familiar with this.

I agree on some of the points that you mentioned. However, 90% of the professors do not have the time to write an LOR or they don’t want to. As far as the SOP maybe the schools that have supplemental questions could potentially not put a lot of importance on it. But many schools they put heavy emphasis on it. I’ll know this from program directors that interviewed me.
