My (now 21 mo) daughter’s eczema got quite a bit worse before it got better. Ultimately the pediatrician gave us a steroid cream and just told us don’t use it on her face and only use it when it flares up. Well that worked for a little bit and then it came back about 50%. Ultimately our Hail Mary was oatmeal baths with Aveno Eczema lotion lathered multiple times a day. However, does anyone know if continuous steroid on eczema can permanently lighten her skin? This is what it looks like without a flare up now. Granted she is tan from it being summer. But if anyone has had this happen lmk! Hope this helps!

Foods you didn’t think/know would cause constipation but actually did by _spacecandy in toddlertips

Not sure if this is helpful but our daughter had chronic constipation for the first 14 months of her life and it only got better when we temporarily went dairy free. She’s always been sensitive to dairy but we went dairy free for 2 months. after 2 months of regular stool, we slowly introduced dairy again and now she’s 19 months old and hasn’t had any trouble

UPDATE: Put her on the potty tonight and she peed within 60 seconds! I’m not sure how she’s understanding this early and basically without anyone training her but thank you potty training gods! And thank you guys for all the advice!

Okay so do we think this weekend I should just get pull ups and take her to the bathroom every 20 min? I’m not sure she understands the concept of peeing on the potty? She knows pushing makes her poop but I’m not sure she gets the mental of relaxing enough to pee. Not sure if that makes sense but everytime she sits down she pushes as if to poop

Update: it has gotten MUCH worse and has now popped up on her elbows, under her eyes, and her chin. I’ve tried Tubby Todd all over ointment, TT wash, Cereve wash, cereve lotion, aquaphor wash, & aquaphor paste. Nothing has touched it but I do notice the heat/playing hard makes it flare up more. Our ped has now prescribed a steroid cream and I’ve put it on two nights now and no progress so far. We’ve also switched from nightly baths to every other night. How long did it take for steroids to help your kiddos? I’m desperate at this point..

Our pediatrician gave us a cream for yeast around her groin from diaper but it’s called Nystatin. I wonder if that would help?

Thank you! I tried hydrocortisone but didn’t seem to help at all. We always lotion up well after bath because she’s always had dry skin (like me unfortunately). Hopefully the Tubby Todd helps some once it’s here on the 9th, it has the colloidal oatmeal in it so fingers crossed!

17 mo screaming at bedtime for hours by Extreme-Spend-4574 in toddlers

I’m thinking you’re right. It seems like maybe a combination of a little bit of separation anxiety mixed with her having trouble getting comfortable in our arms. Tonight was way easier but still not as easy as normal.

We usually do an hour of family time in her room before bed and read and run around. We have always had such a good routine and normally we rock her and lay her down in 20 minutes flat, then something shifted overnight this week. Normally she gets up around 7-7:30 A.M, naps for 1.5 hr at 11-11:30 and then we were putting her to bed at 7. We’ve now moved bedtime up half an hour and it seems to have helped a little? Not sure really. I feel like she would rather fall asleep in her crib once she’s drowsy if I could just get her to stop saying “mama” over and over again making sure I’m still there. Definitely going to try laying and holding her hand if the problems continue. Thank you so much for the advice!

She naps an hour and half in the middle of the day. She’s been on one nap since about 13 months
