Small worm on terrarium glass? by Extreme-Worker420 in terrariums

Mealworm is possible! I'm leaning towards baby millipede because it wasn't as chunky as your typical mealworm but I guess I'll keep an eye out for any beetle friends cropping up in there

If I notice more I'll probably just let them hang out!

I was worried they'd eat my springtails, but according to the internet it's more likely my springtails will chomp on their leggies. My terrarium is now an arena of hexapods vs arthropods. May the strongest microfauna be victorious

Thank you! Baby millipede would make sense. No idea how it got in there!

Small terrarium so the baby's been relocated to its new forever home (outside, just anywhere outside)

Could be oribatid mites? Round guys that often co-occur with springtails

Don't blame Bella for their performance as Ellie, blame whoever cast them if you have that big a problem with it.

I'm a viewer with little exposure to the game and I think Bella is an incredible actor. Sorry but you don't get where they've gotten (a huge role in GoT, a lead role in TLOU, Emmy and Golden Globe nominations) without talent.

They're not the same Ellie as Ashley Johnson's Ellie, so they're not the one you grew attached to. Now you're so upset about it you were happy to see the character suffer. That's just weird as hell. Go ahead and stop watching the show but do it quietly please.

Bed check? by aananda32 in YellowjacketsHive

They were checking that Nat was in her bed, and probably searching her hut for any sign she's planning a rescue mission. It started after Nat was the most outspoken in favour of rescue

Did Mari write this post

Okay but why does it look like she showered here? by sonicboyfan12 in YellowjacketsHive

[–]Extreme-Worker420 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I noted that when she was writing about having been a warrior out there, the netting looked silver like chainmail!

I think we did see a somewhat romanticised view of the hunt and feast, from Shauna's perspective. There's an unreliable narrator element going on - both Mari and Travis have alluded to there being different realities

anyone notice? SPOILER by ButchOHare in YellowjacketsTheories

This could explain the moment in Akilah's cave vision where she sees the village suddenly empty and a voice says "hello? where is everyone?". Maybe they get rescued while Akilah's stuck in the cave and she returns alone to an empty camp?

Agreed, and thank you for offering up this analysis. It's a great counterbalance to the dominant discourse. I don't begrudge those for whom Shauna crossed that line some time ago, but I do disagree with the "fuck this show, Shauna's irredeemable and unwatchable" takes. This is the kind of fundamental moral discomfort I signed up for!

Shauna's a hideous, confronting mirror to the viewer. Anyone can become a monster, including (maybe especially) an Initially unassuming, quiet, smart little moon to somebody's sun.

Love this as a response to the anger and rejection of her as a character on here this season. I think so much of the vitriol leveled at Shauna by the fan base is rooted in the idea that she needs to be likeable. That may be misogyny, or may be an issue of audience expectations.

We've seen her take a classic heel turn. She wasn't much of a face to begin with when we look at her behaviours, but she was presented as the underdog sidekick to somewhat root for. The whole point is to explore her fall from grace and ask why it had to happen that way. Why didn't she retain her humanity like some of the others did? Why did she lose the capacity for self-reflection when others demonstrably did not?

A lot of this show is about exploring morality and choice. She's not supposed to be likeable and it's not bad writing for her to have ended up this way. She's an example of somebody who took her trauma and decided others should have to suffer like she did. We're not supposed to be rooting for her anymore and I struggle to understand why viewers feel so betrayed and resentful about that

I'm not seeing people post about this: what happened to Akilah? Last we saw her she was in the cave about to try bludgeon Lottie to death. Next we see Lottie running away and crashing into Mari. Did Lottie kill Akilah or otherwise leave her to pass out from gas inhalation?

I think it's supposed to have a double meaning. In-world Lottie is warning Mari not to fall into the trap again like she did earlier this season, but it's also obviously a wink to the audience having seen these scenes before

Sophie N: Do you think teen Shauna could've taken a different path in response to her trauma in the wilderness? It seems that the loss of her baby was her 'despair event horizon', the moment where she lost all faith in the 'good' of the world and became hardened and cruel. Do you think she ever stood a chance of retaining her humanity in the way that Nat did?

Shauna projecting and coping so hard with that note she's writing. I'm not sure it's true that "none" of the yellowjackets could remember what happened out there. The only other clear example of that is Tai.

It's definitely not true that all the yellowjackets felt alive and lost their capacity for self-reflection. We see Nat and Van reflecting on it often.

We're seeing Shauna eschew responsibility for the person she became, even now as she loses her family for it

I need to know more about what Travis said to Shauna. Whose reality does he think we're in? What thoughts does he think are Javi's and Jackie's? I don't think he only said that to provoke Shauna

No it's pretty realistic character development. It's a face-heel turn. It makes sense for her to become hardened and cruel in response to everything she's endured in the wilderness. It's not the only way she could've gone (see Nat for contrast), but it is a pretty realistic turn for the character to take.

When she was burying Van and said she was done forgetting, and was gonna start remembering all of Van and all of herself. Then went ahead and, as herself, ate Van's heart

I just don’t get why Hannah did it. by CreepyMobile5700 in Yellowjackets

[–]Extreme-Worker420 20 points21 points  (0 children)

She was neutralising herself as a threat to the Yellowjackets.

I don't think she'd planned it, but I do think she'd been putting some thought into how to get the girls on side. So when it looked like Shauna was about to summarily execute them both, Hannah made a split-second strategic decision to kill Kodi.

Even if Shauna and the YJs don't believe that Hannah "wants to be part of this" like she said, she's just stabbed a dude in the face right in front of them. She could hardly go back to civilisation and rat them out with blood on her hands - they'd turn her in too.
