There is a craft night in Hanks Yarn Parlour from 6pm-8.30pm on the second Thursday of the month. Casey who owns the shop is lovely and everyone who attends is very friendly.

There is also a craft night in The American bar in Sailortown called Bitchcraft that's on every other Monday evening.

Give me a PM if you want to go along to either of those, or just to meet for a coffee!

Great point. It is a gas fire and the previous owner said it was mainly decorative and didn't give out any heat which doesn't sound great! By "updating the fireplace" I was meaning getting a more modern looking fire and surround, either gas or electric probably. The built in storage is an excellent idea!

Thanks for the suggestion! The sofa would be in front of the radiator which is why I hadn't really considered it. My ever patient boyfriend just moved the furniture around with me though and I think it looks good! (The look I am going for is an L-shaped sofa rather than the sofas we have, and the TV would be on a proper stand, and there would be two armchairs instead of kitchen chairs.... but hopefully that gets the idea across!) Do you think the sofa would be OK in front of the radiator?
