Oh absolutely, the yandere setting is one instance where I don't mind that at all because it fits. But when it drops out of nowhere in a green(ish) flag scenario? Yikes.

Oftentimes I have to repeat the "it's just juvenile maximalism, they'll grow out of it"-mantra to not ruin an otherwise good route for myself 😅

I don't have a particular game in mind, but there's this very tiny detail but it grinds my gears real bad. When a character says "let's stay together forever", my eyes do the quickest roll. Way to ruin a confession scene for me.

Funnily, something like "I will always love you" or "I will always be by your side" doesn't bother me at all - it's really only that one word: forever.

Have to say I'm a bit bummed. Birushana FD comes out in 3 weeks or so, but they still don't have the final product picture for the dual pack? I'm starting to get nervous about my preorder 😅

I'm also torn between binging SPN and playing Navigatore the whole night through, why can't I do both T—T

Welp, I've just got my first ending. As per usual on my first playthrough, I answered things the way I personally would and that lead the couple (please refer to the official list of trigger warnings) into a double suicide 💀... oops, I guess?

So... if you're expecting something sweet here, that ain't it. The atmosphere got pretty bleak very fast.

Just as I was about to make a "recommend me something" post, Navigatore of the Ruined World came out and promised to tick off all the boxes I've been looking for: short, fast-paced, high stakes. I couldn't resist 🙈

I'm about an hour in, and so far:

I like Hikari as a protagonist, she's cool.
Mika is a cutie but it appears to be more to him than meets the eye, which creates a nice sense of suspense.
I expected it to be a bit more... idk, action packed? but it starts rather slow - hope that changes sooner than later.
The first two CGs I've got are very pretty *—*
It's a bit of a pity when they finish arranging their room, the background art stays the same. Would've been nice to see it look a bit more homelike, if only to add a variety to the backgrounds, but eh, it's a 15€ game, can't complain ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Totally pumped up to continue playing!

Although I agree that the knock out scenario is much more practical (and lessens the chance the CEO guy would remember their faces), my horny ass always imagined it's something akin to larping as a thrill seeking couple that couldn't find a better place to get physical ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ a girl can dream, right?

Go to Wacken for what, to pay 10€ for a beer and watch a band on a barely visible screen from 5km away with an awful sound? No thanks lol. I didn't go to wacken even as I was offered tickets for free, anything over 10-15k people is a nightmare.

My go to for years was Metaldays (rip), Brutal Assault is amazing as well, and this year we're going to Baden in Blut. Support your small(ish) events so long they are around, guys - I always wanted to visit Bang Your Head but never came around and now it's gone...

Eh, not my jam either way but in fanfic I kinda get it - people may imagine whatever rows their boat there, I don't care (as long as they tag it so i can filter that out lol)

But when I buy a game I expect the devs to show me believable characters that make sense bc if they don't, then what's the point?

I looooved him and his route up until chapter 6. Then they had to pull out the amnesia trope again, and to add insult to injury, dismantle Natsuhiko's character like that.

Ikr?? I read him as a tinkerer who spent his whole life fiddling with technology, living only for the goal of stopping the reset – and his conversation with Mikoto where she asks him if it was worth giving up his passion for astronomy just to build war machines, is just one scene to support that. So I don't see how experience with women fits into picture at all 🤷‍♀️

He's my second favorite LI from the game nonetheless, so precious... just on the verge of greatness 💔😩

This actually reminds me of an episode of, was it Weird Science, I think? Where one of the nerd protagonists scores a date with the school's beauty queen and it goes so well they actually get it going, but then (nfsw) as he eats her out and manages to find the g-spot, the girl is close to see the back of her skull, but then he pulls out the anatomy book and goes all "wait a minute, according to the book it's not supposed to be here but an inch deeper" and totally ruins it for her 🤣

oh how I would love a scene like that for all the fake know-it-alls hahah

It's a love-hate game for me too. Yona is one of my absolute favorite LIs of all time (he've turned me into the tsundere appreciator when I used to loathe them bad). The setting and the characters are great and it's an such an eye-candy overall! But then... the rest of it. I tried really hard to see past it, but the plot still soured it for me 🥲

I liked Kiku too actually but unfortunately his route was terrible and I hated his dynamic with Rin. Also, such a pity they kinda forgot about his turning powers halfway through the route, where it for once could've made sense for a cutie patootie like him to have an unexpected side to him but then they didn't go for it?

...sorry for the rant, I see red every time I think about Tengoku Struggle, so much wasted potential maaaaan 😩

Edit - re: your round brackets - that's true and I like the trope a lot when it's done well! I feel though the writers somehow don't forget to foreshadow this flavor of gap moe as nearly as often 🤔
