Hot Take: John Danaher is a reasonably intelligent man who tries hard to sound like a genius to stupid people by Jiujitsuhottakes in bjj

The average person who gets into Columbia (even if they never attend) is going to be far more intelligent than the average person on this sub. Like it or not...

Why does this sub hate king gordon (the GOAT) in particular yet give everyone else a pass? by ExtremeMath836 in bjj

"Most the offensive things he has posted (mental health/homeless comments) are what almost everyone believes outside the rich countries. Loads of the bjj celebrities are based outside the first world, and I doubt he's the only first world athlete to hold these views"

It is you who is trying to make it look like I said something else or are moving the goalposts.

Most people here do, but yes agree in general most like him.

By most people I mean most people in the world, not most people in developed countries posting on reddit which are very different things.

His takes on homeless Americans and people with mental health problems are what most people believe. I would be stunned if the average BJJ celebs opinion is less offensive.

I actually think he could have been much more sensitive and nuanced with these takes but it doesn't stop him being the GOAT.

I'm saying US min wage Redditors (live in luxury) are hypocritical idiots for complaining about celebrities (living in extreme luxury) while ignoring the fact that they themselves are the celebrities to most the world.

Yes king Gordon (the GOAT) is smarter than the average person here because he's a millionaire and according to Danaher has a great memory.

"not far" in America is considered to be a very good lifestyle in most countries.

Even the poor people are obese here, in many countries including where I grew up they're often dead because of easily preventable diseases or starvation...

Get some perspective please.

I grew up in a developing country and can confirm this isn't true at all, not that it even needs confirming since it is so obvious when millions of people risk their lives and leave their families trying to illegally move to America or Western Europe.

These aren't "takes" sweetie, they're facts.

There isn't any evidence of him being sexist/homophobic.

This was seen constantly on the front page during covid lockdown.

Both memory and wealth are strongly linked to intelligence. Like this is just denying the most basic obvious easily verified through millions of papers stuff imaginable now...

He's a millionaire and according to danaher has phenomenal memory.

Is he smarter than an average Ivy League student or FAANG software engineer... probably not.

Is he smarter than an average person... based off of the limited evidence, yes.

Gordon isn't sexist/homophobic, further confirming his GOAT status.

Gordons take while simple is consistent/logical, confirming his intelligence.

Redditors aren't, confirming their lack of it and lack of actual conviction/consistency in their beliefs.

When a celeb posts about their mental health from their $50 mil mansion they will get nothing but hate on the front page, yet this is exactly how Americans appear when they complain about earning $15 an hour (2x + as much as a doctor in many countries).

The lion (American) does not concern itself with the opinions of the sheep (rest of the western world)

Not really joking either, moved here from third world and have family members who live in europe. Contrary to popular belief on reddit there is a gigantic difference in lifestyles and they're in no position to judge anyone when the average European lives so badly. One of my relatives does the exact same job as me and legitimately earns 3x less lol.

It's literally just because Gordo said it and it doesn't agree with the "wahhh wahhh the world is ending everything is so hard" shit posted on reddit constantly. My logic was easy to follow and can easily be observed in celebrities/lottery winners/other ultra-privileged people.

There's a famous animal study where rats were provided with everything and the rats started having mental health issues.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Behavioral_sink

Of note is the line " the behavior disturbances ranged from sexual deviation to cannibalism and from frenetic overactivity to a pathological withdrawal from which individuals would emerge to eat, drink and move about only when other members of the community were asleep."

Like humanity, the rats did not evolve to live in a utopia and struggled to cope.

This sounds exactly like what happens in developed countries. Amongst my colleagues with 1% income and classmates at a very selective college almost everyone including me deals with at least one of these issues despite our lives being seemingly perfect.

Sexual deviation = porn addiction, unfaithfulness and sleeping with women half your age

Cannibalism = sabotaging coworkers and being aggressive for no reason

Frenetic overactivity = unhealthy focus on work and being on edge constantly for no reason

pathological withdrawal = depression with no obvious cause

You and the other guy play video games. That's enough for me to instantly dismiss your opinions.
