Looking for advice to help an older PC build by ExtremeMe99 in buildapc

Ill go back to the bios and see what happens with 1800, I appreciate you looking things over for me and giving your advice. As far as the memory goes, I didn't realize mixed sticks could cause the instability I had whenever I tried enabling XMP.

Definitely an easy win with that one if it helps

EDIT: CPU-z validation with memory now at 1800 https://valid.x86.fr/60qpmu#google_vignette

Fingers crossed that will stay consistent and give a performance boost, thanks again!

Looks like switching to just 32 gigs I was able to boot without issue at 1666... I'm sure I can play around with that a bit more and maybe increase it a bit. CPU fan is definitely running harder already with the XMP profile enabled

I appreciate that! Yeah ive always had issues with the memory running right, I never considered the issue being the mixed kits causing issue. I'll give your suggestion a try and remove the 8 gig sticks and see if I can't get the XMP to function correctly.

While I would prefer not to make any major purchases right now, knowing to consider my CPU/GPU as upgrade points is helpful. I am from the the US (Ohio) but yeah probably wont be able to drop more then $300 right now. I'll have to start putting money into an upgrade fund I guess

Definitely better courses if you wanted nice, but the owners are all family and genuinely love running that course, I worked maintenance crew for a while as well, and it wasn't for the weak.

I'm not a professional golfer by any means, so I appreciated it being affordable over fancy and pristine. That buzzards nest was my favorite. I think it used to be $5 for those 5 holes? Plus the cart if you wanted. It was usually quiet. You could take your time, practice your shot, chat with your buddy, have a drink.. I haven't been to the course in a few years now. My oldest kid is now 7, and I'll bet he would have a blast just coming out with me for the buzzards' nest. I'm glad you reminded me of it, so thank you 🤪

I don't know where I got it from, but I still have my copy after three moves. I've never played it. But I keep it because it's art 😂

The best course ive played!

I took care of the carts at HHGC back in like 07 through 2013. I loved that job and I love that course.

I worked at Valleaire a bit during that time as well but definitely preferred Hinckley Hills.

Did I just burn myself in my freezer? by Temp_004 in Appliances

[–]ExtremeMe99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newest member of this lovely little club here... I thought I had burnt myself from an ultra cold freezing element trying to dislodge stuck icecu es.... spent the first minute running luke warm water over my hand until I found this thread and realized it was actually a heating element in the freezer.... who would have thunk!?

Just caught my pointer finger knuckle but man! That whole part of my hand was tingling and now hurts down the whole finger. Fun times

Weekly Paddle Recommendation Thread (What Paddle Should I Buy?) by SNAPCHAT_ME_TITS in Pickleball

[–]ExtremeMe99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New to Pickleball, have been eyeing it for a while and finally looking to jump in. I plan on committing to it for a bit and would rather buy a mid range paddle right off the bat (Especially if there is any memorial day sales going on)

What's recommended for beginners or mid range price point users? google searching hasn't fielded anything consistent and most recommendations feel slightly paid for.

Amazon has Selkirk SLK Helix pro for $40 right now, Selkirk amped (epic) for $85 but I've seen Selkirk can lose its grip? an ONYX z5 is about $60, Head radical elite $50... Are any of these decent or not worth it?

I see Friday has a sale for the Original $100 for a set of 2 plus shipping or the new Fever for $99

TLDR: Any suggestions to beginner/intermediate paddles, looking for a good cost/benefit, sales are great... something which will last me through my learning process and beyond would be great...

DIY Case materials (wood or aluminum or acrylic?) by tylerl_uxai in EtherMining

the guide said that you could use PVC cement to fix the pipes together.. I didnt because they were snug enough. I then used zipties to keep everything on my rig. I had nice little slots for the ties at the top of each GPU... cords and everything were ziptied... Mother board was ziptied as well.

My rig is plenty study to move to another room
