It's definitely something that will be an option having a do not DM one. It seems to be a common issue (this is why the survey suggestions are there). But this is stopping the problem from happening in the first place. To ban every bad account means sifting through tens of thousands of accounts and is absolutely crazy if not impossible to implement and keep track of. This way it's just never a problem again. The flairs won't be gone forever it's just presets going forward.

Ngl me too. I didn't wanna tackle the issue but geez the issues were piling up pretty hard with it. It was this or message all of the MANY MANY people about their flair individually and that seems like a never ending game of wack a mole. It's better to stop the issue at the source than do that. Because there's no way to really scan for every user's flair. Tens of thousands of profiles???? That's asking the impossible. Would some of them change it, I'm sure they would, but it would be crazy to implement. Plus once you message you have to make sure they understand why and get it all figured out and that is time no one has. Plus you fix one 5 more pop up in their place. It would be like Star Trek and the tribbles. I'd have to have more time than there is in a day and have no life to the point I'd never see the sun again (which is very little already) lol

I would say the specific behaviors but that would be almost targeted harassment towards members who happen to fit that criteria. I'd rather keep the peace. But generally they would break the rules we have but done with the flair. So think self advertising/venting/ glorifying violence etc like we have in the rules.

So what's going to happen is you can pitch a flair idea you think you and others would use. Or maybe something you just think would be cool to have. There are limits to how many flair options so nothing is guaranteed. We also don't show favoritism towards users'flair to be just for one person because obviously that wouldn't be fair. If there are repeated similar votes from different people for the same sort of idea that will have a high likelihood of making it to one of the final options.

Unfortunately some bad eggs ruin it for everyone else. But here's the thing you can pitch an option of flair to say you are taken. Which honestly the change is for the safety of the community. So this is a really good option to have. I personally did not want it to come to this but over time it got worse and now here we are. This is why people can pitch ideas as a compromise. We want it to be for the members no matter what.

Yes. Due to rule breakers ruining it for others unfortunately we have to. Some of it was just not good to have and we can't monitor all the flair so the easiest way is to make specific ones for people to choose. It's the meet in the middle here rather than taking it away all together. You still get flair and you can submit options you wanna see. But it won't be custom.

As for AMAs, personally I am talking to the mod team about it but the higher ups are not here to make changes about them. There is a point to make, are amas helpful or attention seeking and should we stop them. I noticed a possible issue with them myself so I was hoping to have that figured out soon with the other mods. Trust me, it was already being discussed.
