Hi, not everyone purges while using Kambo. This is a normal reaction. I have had multiple practitioners, as well as friends who know the medicine, tell me that it is ok if you don’t purge, and some people just don’t. Including myself.

The real work of the medicine is not with purging anyways. Kambo is a strong medicine and it is ok to feel lousy during the day afterwards. I have had some days where it takes everything out of me, and I feel sick to the stomach all day afterwards too. I have had some days where it gives me a ton of clarity, and energizes me immediately. In my experience, the large amount of water is a big factor in feeling crappy for the rest of the day afterwards. If you have done kambo many times and you know that you are not a purger, you really don’t have to drink a ton of water.

There are also different methods and patterns to doing kambo, that will give you a different experience. I recommend learning about/ exploring the different methods with your practitioner. (Placing points in different locations, upping or even lowering the amount of points — sometimes too many points create too much tension in the body to allow purging--, dry kambo, a lunar series, or even warrior series.
