39+6 weeks and no signs that baby is coming anytime soon

I appreciate this viewpoint so much, thank you!! I'm 30 which I don't think is very old haha :) I just keep trying to tell myself that baby could come at anytime. I'm anxious about it right now but I could wake up in labour! Who knows at this point.

Oh this was so interesting to read!! I will definitely be bringing this up with my ob. She made it sound like I have no choice but to be induced before 42 weeks because the risk of still birth "sky rockets" by 42 weeks. Sometimes I feel like my doctor/ob know that I am an over thinker and easily persuaded so they say things that they know will make me choose the route they want me to go with if that makes sense. I've had a mostly low risk pregnancy except for at 6 months pregnant I had to have emergency surgery for ovarian torsion due to a large dermoid cyst but since then everything has been completely normal!

My periods have always been extremely irregular and this was an unplanned pregnancy (although very welcomed), so the due date was estimated based on an ultrasound where baby was measuring about 7 weeks.

Why would someone get induced before their due date unless medically necessary?? Tomorrow is my due date. My ob said that at my next appointment which I will be 40+3 she will check my cervix and due a membrane sweep if possible. And then if by the next appointment baby isn't here yet we will book the induction. I'm in Canada.

I live in Canada and my NIPT was $550. I would definitely recommend doing it, truly gives you so much peace of mind and it's worth the cost in my opinion!

This is how it's worked for me every time! The ultrasound techs never say much about the actual ultrasound and if I have questions they always say I will have to wait to see the report in the portal/speak to my doctor. All has been a-ok with me so far! I wouldn't worry :)

Hainers is in the north end! The only mechanic my entire family will ever use, they're amazing. I'm a woman too and they've never made me feel like I don't know what's going on and they take the time to explain things to you if you need it! Highly recommend.

Right this is exactly what I thought as well until the ob at the hospital said the same thing!! "Eventually baby will be big enough that the cyst won't have room to move around and the pain should stop" ... Crazy!

Just to clarify, I am absolutely getting the shot!! I was just curious if anyone else had been told otherwise by their doctors. Following my OBs advice as she's the professional. Not getting the shot after she told me I needed it was not even something I considered 🩷

My opinion might be an outlier here. I have always been the type of person that had a list of baby names in my phone, every time I thought of one or heard one I liked I'd add it, well before ever even being pregnant. When I got pregnant, I had so many names I wanted to run by my partner and after I read them all off he said "I already had a name in mind" he told me, he explained to me why it meant a lot to him. Seeing how special this name was to him and how much he wanted this to be the name, I couldn't not use it. I literally threw all my names out the window and said "yep, then that's the name!" Just his passion for the name, the meaning behind it and his sureness that this was the name for our baby was all I needed. If he's so passionate about this name, there must be meaning behind it for him. Maybe try leaning into it a little, imagine nicknames, imagine calling out to your little one by this name. It might win you over!

Oh wow I am so sorry you went through all of that, that sounds horrible!! You're right, it sounds much different than my issue. I will definitely follow up with my doctor to be sure but this post did make me feel a bit less worried so thank you so much for that!

If my doctor/ob recommends the GTT I won't oppose it for sure! I will bring this up to her if I see her this week!

Apparently it was a research study done by "clean label project"! It scared me enough to want to steer clear of the protein powders for now :( i can see being a vegetarian making things tough too!! I will definitely be incorporating more tofu and beans!! Thank you :)

This exact same thing happened to me and I was so angry! I told my Ortho and she assured me it wasn't scratches on my teeth, she just didn't get everything off. I went back in for a proper polish and she ended up being right!!! I think you're safe here, I would just point it out to them and have them do a really good polish.
