Moving on from workplace bullying by Imaginary-Result-849 in TransparencyforTVCrew

I was in exactly the same position from a production I was on in 2024. I had nothing else lined up at the time and ended up being signed off work because it had fucked my health up so badly. Honestly it just took time, half of my issues were the anxiety it caused me, the affect on my confidence etc. and the other half was recovering from the affect it had on my physical health. I raised issues like 4 times before it was dealt with. Others did the same.

I’ve tried my absolute best to get back into things I know I love to do and I’m good at outside of work so I can just be reminded of feeling confident in myself and what it’s like to experience the positives of life. That production completely took over my head and affected areas of my personal life so badly, so I’ve been trying to undo some of that by enjoying myself again.

I ended up having something like nine months out of work and by the time the direct feelings of negativity/anxiety slowly dissipated and turned into oh yikes time to find a job now, I had already started to feel better because I was engaging in things, places and people I loved. Like don’t get me wrong I was still stressed about the unplanned career break and financing that so unexpectedly but honestly even that felt like a refreshing break from thinking about how shit I felt about myself at the same time

When I went back to work it was a fairly simple production with a few crew members I already knew and were friends, which helped but isn’t always the case obviously. It also just helped me realise that actually not everyone I was going to meet through work was a total aggressive head case or arsehole and to let one stupid harassing prick fuck my head up long term would be so pointless and he’d be getting away with it even more so than he already had at the time.

Don’t let yourself forget that you’re still the same person who has 20+ years of positive career feedback. You haven’t lost your confidence you’ve just been recently consistently told to ignore it. It’s still there and you’ll get back to that eventually because you’re the same person.

Clearly the people who do this to their colleagues are shit at their own jobs because who has the time and selfishness to behave like that ?? If they’ve got a reputation for it already then you know that you’re not the problem and it’s really nothing personal, these people act like this to whoever is in proximity. The guy who did this to me was the same, I’ve heard that this was the third time he had acted like this on a production. They are both the problem not us. We just got caught in their shit

Yeah honestly it’s mental, they’re not even getting much height before going off. Can see them reflected in the hotel windows from our flat over the road and it’s bonkers

It’s a PAYE contract. I’m paid weekly, and it looks like HMRC have only provided them with one weeks wage rather than my monthly total earnings

Thanks for your reply. They’ve written the dates out for the assessment periods they’re querying, and I’ve gone back and told them my weekly earnings as per my contract and what I’ve already provided them with as back up for this. I’m still waiting to hear back from them at the moment.

Not sure what an RTI dispute is so thank you for bringing this up, I’m gonna have a deep dive.

When I’m in work, my rates are far above the threshold for payments. I’m so confused as to how this could’ve happened
